If we are a team who focuses a lot of effort through the forwards (which we are), then we need someone to give them the best possible service otherwise we are not utilising them effectively which is the issue we have today.

Or is it that as a 5/8 who has 50+ touches a game versus a FB who in attack only gets the ball maybe 10 times a game he has more T/As? Mmm... suddenly that blinding flash that ran past you in the red and green jumper seems to be not that great at all - particularly if you hold the view that Hoppa is rubbish! Not that I do mind you. As I said earlier, Walker is a reasonable player and if we end up getting him at a lot less than $600k a year then it is fine but I'm not going to die in a ditch if he doesn't come over.

Its really all a academic argument, there is no incentive for Souths to release him, they get 200k more cap space? They could let him play out his time in NSW Cup for that money and see if he wants another shot at FG some point down the road.

He can just walk and play in England for a couple years, outside that, feels like the only option is to play amazing football for a season and a half from now, and be primed for a offer from there.

Walkers Stats are a bit misleading imo. Put him up against sub standard defensive outfits like the Tigers and he looks like a JT. Up against teams like the Storm however (or any top 4 side) and he goes missing. He's not a bad player but not worth 600K......400K at the most I would say.
