Just seen a rumour on FB that both Christian Welch and Joe Stimson from the Storm have agreed to terms with the dogs. Both seem to be good upcoming forwards. Welch for mine is a good signing. But why the fuck are we buying forwards?!

Because.. the way things are and with pay as coach etc we can’t attract decent specialist signings.!!! So the trend continues. The club is a bloody mess , stuck in a rut, because of all the stupid decisions made in the last few years.

Yeah welch is pretty much a modern version of Tolman imo, has the work ethic, but comes with more aggression and an offload

Welch is a top bloke off the field too... and one of few Storm players who isn't a dickhead when they stay in Sydney for games. Doesn't have a manager (self represents), and has a Commerce degree and is studying an MBA. Smart bloke.

If we are getting both, maybe they can bring Papenhauyzen and Harry Grant over as well (unless its a ploy to snag them).

If Paps and Grant only comes with the addition of Stimson I can deal with that.

If we're doing a double raid of Melbourne, get Grant or Smith and Papenhuyzen or Drinkwater.

The obsession with forwards is bizarre. I'd love for us to sign Welch, but it would have to be followed with Tolman or Napa being moved on to make sense cap wise. Otherwise we'd have $1.5 million or more next season tied up in three props alone.

I can see George Burgess heading to Dragons to replace JDB, and Welch heading to Rabbitohs to replace Burgess.
