Bulldogs V Melbourne Storm
Round 23, 1998
Torrential rain before and throughout this clash had players wishing they'd donned gumboots to navigate the surface of Belmore Sports Ground. To add to the build-up, Chris Anderson was going head- to-head against his brother-in-law Steve Folkes. Anderson had won premierships with Canterbury as a player and coach, but was now with Melbourne Storm in their debut season. The Storm were sitting in equal first, while the Bulldogs were walking the tightrope of elimination as they needed to continue winning to keep their top-eight hopes alive.
