Second chance? More like third. Not good that he may have been suicidal and good on him for publicly fronting up now this is behind him and the Bulldogs. How many posters on here said the club and NRL did the wrong thing but he himself says he was in the wrong. For whatever reasons he spoke publicly, I hope he has truly accepted it’s time to grow up and wish him well for the future.

It's quite possible that it's PR spin as said above however if it is then it's in especially bad taste. We won't know so in this instance I'm choosing to hope for his sake that he mean's that he "didn't deserve to wear our jersey". Either way it gives me closure and I will now file this one away and move on. I get nothing out of dwelling on this.

I think most people thought he was in the wrong. I didn't think that the punishment fit the crime or it was comparable to what Okunbor did. I'm sure that he and Okunbor both experienced some dark places. I feel for both of them but they messed up and had to take their beans. Whatever spin is being put on it, he chose to leave us.

Fuck off CHN you lying dog... Oh I didn't feel like I deserved to wear the jersey please... In the same article you claim to let the game down so why do you feel that you deserve to wear any NRL jersey. Lying dog pulling a cheap PR stunt, just be honest and say you took the easy way out... Fucking nothing but a 'Matterson' this ****, just be honest and tell the truth mate.

If it's true I have sympathy for anyone that feels suicide is an option. Been there once myself with some shit happening at work and knew it was only an easy way out for me and would have been hard on my family. But I personally think this is a strange publicity thing. Strongly suspected that he got a contract upgrade out of the move.

I'd moved on from his decision to leave before this. Like I said I suspect that he's on a better wage at the Raiders. This actually pisses me off though. I'll never know if there's truth in what he's saying. But to say he felt he didn't deserve to wear the jersey again but jump into an opposition one as soon as he possibly could sets off the bells on my bullshit detector.

1. Bringing back a bitch to a hotel isn't 'a great shame to the club'
2. Because of the above, you were 'angry at bulldogs officials for not backing you up'
3. Canberra offered cash and a premiership dash And you took it
4. Now he doesn't want to be hated By the league like SNW was, so doing the Greg Inglis trick, acting suicidal every time you misbehave

I believe he’s BSing and I believe the ct is an arsehole who had an opportunity to play for a competitive team and jumped at it.

If he wanted redemption he would of tried to earn it.

It’s BS and he can get fk’d. Ct

To be fair, we've all considered committing suicide after having to suffer through this season..

Seriously though, what a joke for him to even mention that in relation to our club. His whole attitude of playing the victim is why I'm just glad he has nothing to do with the club anymore.

It's a dangerous game calling someone out as a liar when it comes to suicide. Personally, I don't want to go down that path.

What I will say is that if his intention is to explain his situation then good for him. Suicide is no laughing matter, and something that me should talk more about so it's great that he's being open about it.

But with that intention come responsibilty. He really should be talking more openly about it, and helping others understand the feelings behind it. He should be educating children, those who look up to him, about how normal it is to have these feelings and to encourage youngsters to reach out to others when they have those bad days. He should be owning his decisions in life, and accepting that the path to suicide comes more often than not from choices you make in life. He should be partnering with an association specialised in suicide prevention, as they can help him share to the point tips and experiences that will help people.

This is what a high-profile athlete who WANTS to use their experience to help others should be doing.

I'll wait to see if he does this or not and then pass more judgment on whether he's been sincere in sharing this.

Firstly, I hope he is in a good space.

It's funny how CHN says he didn't deserve to wear the jersey again but some long time members and fans were calling for Hill's, Anderson's and the boards' heads because they didn't do enough to keep him.

The bloke should never had been given an opportunity to stay in the first place. Even he knows that.
