this is an age old dispute which no one has officially buried!
Nearly every day I think about this but never have any closure on the matter.

It's a crapshoot cause not only does a chicken come out of an egg,but an egg comes out of a chicken!

From a scientific perspective, DeGrass Tyson said it well. The Egg came first, but it didn't come from a Chicken.

Basically an earlier species gave laid eggs with mutations. These mutations were what we know as the first species of chicken. Through breeding they eventually became a full on species.

I've seen the speed house though, very fucked up and interesting at the same time.
