Any recommendations for where to go for a thorough car wash inside and out in Sydney..

Roughly what sort of cost..

The Dogs players recommend a business that comes to you..

Depends on the car. If you care about the car do it yourself. A car wash will scratch the heck out of your paint and the detergents are way too strong, eat your paint

If you don’t care about the car, leave it out in the rain for its wash

D'pends how much you want to spend. You want a-grade - ask around decent smash repair joints. Paint repair and a-grade polish, basically mint inside and out. But you won't get much change out of $600-$700.

I bought a brand new car last year. It was fresh off the boat fully wrapped. The dealer decided to clean the car before giving it to me. During their cleaning they left scratch marks all over the clear coat, and more importantly, they scratched the windshield glass. Apparently the guy cleaning the car had a hard metal wedding ring on. And these guys wanted me to pay them nearly $2k to do a graphene coating.

After I got them to fix it up, I spent the whole day doing a full clean and detail, then did a basic Turtle Wax Graphene coating.

Car was great until I had a busy few months and had no time to clean it, so I took it to the highest rated car wash company I could find. Paid them $300 to clean the car. They scratched up the clear coat and stripped the graphene coating.

Australia has crap car washers. Even the good ones are crap. Just do it yourself.

If you want to know how to do it properly, these two are some of the best

But it's really not that complex....

Don't wash it during peak sunlight. You don't want water stains to build up. Don't use harsh soap for most of your washes except if it's a reset wash (clearing the wax). Use a specificly designed car wash detergent without wax (don't use the wash and wax combo). Use clean microfibre cloths that don't have anything stuck in them.

If you haven't washed it for a while, for the first wash use dishwashing liquid. It will remove all the built up oils and clear out any bad wax job. Fully dry it with a microfibre towel. After that, detail it if you want (buffing out scratches, or repairing deep scratches), then clean again using car wash detergent.

After all that, apply your preferred coating (wax, graphene, etc)

Chris Fix makes great video, really enjoy his content.

No one cleans cars like AMMO NYC, cleans cars that haven't been used in several decades.

(regular clean)

Every new car is washed before hand over. They come in horrible state from the manufacturers.

100% for a period in time I was doing it a lot myself, I found it therapeutic but also to get away from the chaos of my kids for a few hours.

Proper, clean.
3 buckets, 1 soap bucket, 1 wash sponge bucket, 1 for wheels and tyres no cross contamination. I never use a chammy, I'd use an air blower to dry the car. I was into it for a while, then life and other busy shit got in the way, so I've cut down on cleaning myself nowadays.

In a car dealership the bloke that does the car washes is basically the cheapest labour they can find. They probably crackheads. I’ve seen them drag a chamois over cars in the yard that have dust all over them.. it’s basically like using sandpaper on them.

everytime I service my car I specifically say no car wash as I don’t want them destroying the paint

wash yourself only.

years back I bought a new ford xr8. The day before I went into dealership and it was sitting there waiting to be picked up.. I looked at the front end and there were all bug marked all over the front, the ones they must cop in transit on back of a truck. I showed the dealer principle.. were you really going to g to give me a car in that condition? They gave it the once over wash and that’s it. He was very embarrassed and said it would be sorted and delayed my pick up time. Horrendous!
