Flanno senior knew Kyle wasn't ready for first grade that's why he didn't pick him....he wanted to protect him.
Then get rid of Flanno Jr that way he can’t pick him one question what do u think about Shane as a head coach ?

And you think he doesn't know now that he's not ready for first grade ....... (rhetorical question don't bother answering).

He didn't have to say anything because like you said it's just a trial. Even though there are concerning signs, there's no point addressing this publicly yet. The only reason you would is if there's some truth to it and you want to get out in front of it.
The Bulldog socials are scathing in criticism of Barrett, Avo, Oki, JMK. Fans are fed up. It's pretty full on. He probably shouldn't have said anything bc it's just highlighted the faults in Barrett's selections, handling of Burto, our soft defence and gameplan.

Everyone is hoping that "it's only a trial" is the reason ....but...have seen the team play so poor for several years now and are disappointed and worried it will be another frustrating loser year of watching them play so ineptly...even after a revamp of half the team :(

It's up to coaches, players, Admin to turn our fortunes around and become a successful Club again....that doesn't happen then you get the supporters offside and complaining as they are now. It's up to John etc to get this bus back on track.

100%. So what if Cronulla had new players? they played like professional sportsmen (which they fucking are) and everyone just did their job for the team, nailed the 1%ers and they absolutely bent us over, compared to the cattle we had who played like an absolute rabble. that's the difference here, there seems to be a complete lack of professionalism in our squad. The team selection for one (which starts with the fucking coach), everything Okunbor does is amateurish, TPJ losing his cool, Jackson getting in the way when the ball is meant to go to halves and then dropping it more than once, poor service from dummy half and poor decision making as to who to pass the ball to in an attacking scenario, the countless knock ons, pushing offloads to nobody, players running in out of position in defence and having no clue when to jump for bombs, falling off tackles and shirt grabbing, the incorrect play the balls.... its shit that shouldnt be happening in first grade and does not occur anywhere near as often in the other 15 first grade squads except ours. Until they start playing like the fucking 'professional athletes' they're employed to be, nothing will change and we'll continue on the same path we've been on for 8 years
This is all true!
Really it's inconceivable that it is STILL happening in Barrett's 2nd year....and many years before that.

Fans can hardly be blamed for thinking that there is a total lack of respect for coaches and the Club, very poor processes, unprofessional attitudes and poor coaching standards eg name one other coach who would have Oki as his winger or Avo as his halfback (both in the same team). These guys may have potential but form should, and must, count and players need to learn the position in reserve grade, not first grade.

The trials were disappointing because of the same issues as previous year being demonstrated - poor ball handlling/fundamentals, soft defence, okunbor still dropping the ball n being - lost, confused, bewildered, befuddled, mystified and stupefied - trying to defend.

Okunbor has become the whipping boy but dropping him will not magically solve all of our problems.

Very true. Attention is focussed on him bc it is a glaring example of Barrrett's poor coaching in allowing the mistakes and loss of possession to continue.

There's other glaring problems but that is one very obvious example of inept coaching.

Correct It wont solve all our problems BUT he is 25 he has been in the dogs system for over 7 years given every opportunity but keeeps making the same mistakes and has no idea how to defend. Occasionally he will have reasonable game and even more rarely he will do something brilliant - he is now a target for team all they have to do is run at him with a few numbers and his "marking of space" creates their overlap - he just hasnt learnt!

Patience folks , where building, where making mistakes , building combinations, defensive patterns, training is 1 thing but it's game situations where it's all got to come together, new team and what I've seen potentially where way better than last year, but it's got to come together which in time it will

Absolutely not but it'd be a good start. He can't be picked if you expect to win or be competitive in games because he's a complete liability that other teams will target over and over again.

Even if he isn't picked our defense, lack of discipline and disjointed attack will still be issues. As will the service from dummy half and Jackson getting too many touches.

He'll probably drop out of the side when Allan is fit. It was worth trying to give him a solid run in the trials since we probably need a big body at the back seeing as though dufty and jac aren't powerful kick returners.

First 2 rounds we’ve got the Cowgirls (14th in 2021) and Donkeys (15th in 2021).

It’s a soft start to our draw with a huge opportunity presented to get our season off to a flyer with 2/2 and give us confidence to beat tougher opponents thereafter.

We just need to finally get our shit together and improve, plain and simple. Can’t keep blaming the draw or the refs and other rubbish that I’ve been reading on here.

Of course it won't solve all of our problems but it will solve one of our main problems. His shocking defence and his consistent errors make him a liability. For every one good thing he does he does three stupid things so his position in the team can't be justified.

That right side defence with him, Schoup and Avo is going to be responsible for most of the tries we concede this year. Getting rid of Oko will at least give us a fighting chance
