OK so the ripple effect is like the domino effect.
One situation leads to another.

He was a Star player who should've been treated with respect in the sense of being rewarded with a bigger slice of the salary cap which would have led to a degree of self confidence and self worth and contentment but instead was treated worse than some fat shit called Dorothy .
