How is us directing criticism at Burton going to improve his game?

He will take criticism from the coaches not people on a forum who are obsessed with being proven right.

No, he should stay at centre and if he doesn't continue to improve then he gets replaced moving forward. Unfortunately Mahoney is the only competent ballplayer in our side right now.

Burto has zero football iq.
He is a centre who wants to play 5/8 and can sometimes play great in that spot.He is also very lazy and shows no urgency.Multiple times today he was walking back behind souths when they were attacking us and leaving us short .
Back in the old days he would have a stint in reserve grade to get fitness up and a wake up call.Most First grade players dont get dropped anymore.
Still he shits on flanagan.Common cirro give rajab a go and inject some enthusiasm and zest into our boring grinding out style team.

Burton can only deal with what he has around him. He made a difference. We would have been beaten to zip if Burton hadn't put us on the board.

Souths are bristling with representative players, and we were backing up from a five day turnaround, with star players out, losing Ado Carr, then that ridiculous sin binning. Souths had 60% of the ball. How do you blame Burton? Where was Flanagan?

Criticism is thrown at certain players out of frustration because they’re average players and have reached their ceiling but continue to get selected in the team. The fact is these certain players are holding their position due to the lack of better players in the top 30 to replace them with.

With Burton there’s leniency when things aren’t clicking for him specifically in this current team with many average and/or inexperienced players around him. It’s only his 2nd year as a 5/8 in first grade and will eventually excel. Potentially he’s that good he’d excel in a number of positions including the back row.

Do you understand that our 5/8 is the third off the ruck these days. We have great service from the play the ball now. Then an average at best Half that doesn't engage the line to create overlaps for our 5/8.

Easy to have a sook when we lose, But back the boys either way.

BTW Rajab is a great young player, but not the answer.

Burton shifted to centre during the game to allow more ball playing opportunites. Probably why he was gassed for a bit.

Clearly you have Zero football brains.

He plays heads up footie and he saw a chance in the moment.
Some do come off. Unfortunately Fox got injured (not Burtons fault) and they score soon after.
I reckon the fuckwit Sutton should have pulled up play with a player obviously badly injured but he had a Good Friday Mission.

With a decent 1/2 he will be a champion 5/8.

Harsh, give it a break. You call him out for not doing enough and then call him out for doing too much. We were severely under man yet some blokes still manage to single players out. Pick one and stick to it. It's one thing to criticise. It's another thing to hate.
