I find it interesting that we went from no NSW Cup team in 2021 to our own last year and then this year we have our own Ron Massey Cup team too.
The Dogfather fixing our pathways after the dumb dumb Hassler yearsI find it interesting that we went from no NSW Cup team in 2021 to our own last year and then this year we have our own Ron Massey Cup team too.
Ron Massey is pretty much the reserve grade side, for NSW Cup.What’s the standard of quality in Ron Massey Cup. Is it at a similar standard to the U20’s?
That's cause we are undoing the stupidity that Hill put in place during covid. Axing our feeder teams what a fucking disgraceI find it interesting that we went from no NSW Cup team in 2021 to our own last year and then this year we have our own Ron Massey Cup team too.
This is true but it’s only half true, because what happens is once a player drops out of NSW cup contention they say ‘fuck y’all’ and drop out of the game completely, or make side deals for straight cash to play for thirlmere or Muswellbrook or something.Ron Massey is pretty much the reserve grade side, for NSW Cup.
Also works the other way for excess Jersey Flegg players to get game time in a good competition. This is true but it’s only half true, because what happens is once a player drops out of NSW cup contention they say ‘fuck y’all’ and drop out of the game completely, or make side deals for straight cash to play for thirlmere or Muswellbrook or something.
Only a very small amount of players with NRL experience in Massey. And usually the ones you do see are the ones that played one forgettable game at the back end of the season for a struggling team after injuries.
I find it more interesting (and dumb) that we had neither 2 years ago. Wtf was the club doing?? Cost cutting?I find it interesting that we went from no NSW Cup team in 2021 to our own last year and then this year we have our own Ron Massey Cup team too.
Maitland is the strongest team in NSW outside NSW Cup, won the Presidents Cup in 2020 and 2022, won the GF in the Newcastle comp last year by 40-4. Lost about 3 games in the last 3 years. After Maitland, the next best teams are in the Ron Massey. Thirlmere play in a comp that was won by East Campbelltown in 2022. Instant success after hardly winning a game in Sydney Shield in the previous 2 seasons. This is true but it’s only half true, because what happens is once a player drops out of NSW cup contention they say ‘fuck y’all’ and drop out of the game completely, or make side deals for straight cash to play for thirlmere or Muswellbrook or something.

technically we did, moorebank in sydney shield fed into NSW cup and mounties were our NSW cup side. It was similiar to newtown feeding into sharks and Norths into the roosters.I find it more interesting (and dumb) that we had neither 2 years ago. Wtf was the club doing?? Cost cutting?
its pretty much the same, all the left over players from each higher team get dropped back a level. no different if it was mounties or under dogs brand. We didn’t. Feeder team is a different concept.
It’s not the same hence Gus changing it back as the first thing he did last year.its pretty much the same, all the left over players from each higher team get dropped back a level. no different if it was mounties or under dogs brand.
he simply just changed the brand and increased the costs for the clubIt’s not the same hence Gus changing it back as the first thing he did last year.
