Bulldogs will have their own Ron Massey Cup team this year.

Yeah, not many ex NRL players in Ron Massey Cup these days. Last year there were only 3 guys that played more than 120 games in NRL - Greg Eastwood, Sam McKendry and David Gower. But there are about 60 guys that move up and down between Ron Massey and NSW Cup every week eg when Cleary put a stack of NSW Cup players in NRL in the last round, 6 St Marys forwards played in the Panthers NSW Cup semi win against North Sydney.
The Bulldogs have had a team in Ron Massey in 2011 but it was called Bankstown Sports, they lost the first 14 games, won a couple at the end of the season. Moses Mbye played in the team. Bankstown Sports never had a team again after that one season.

What has happened to the first Bulldogs Ron Massey Cup team, no announcement on Bulldogs website, have they forgotten the team is playing tonight Sat March18 at 6.30pm. Last Tuesday Gus tweeted that Top30 squad member Brandon Clarke is playing in the team, but no other team announcements not even on NSWRL.com

It continues to astound me that despite the changes at the club that the club has such difficulty giving supporters information. Would be good to know who has a development contract, who is in the flegg squad, who has second tier contracts who is in the rm squad etc.

As much as we love the club , it feels like at times they are keeping us in the dark and even feeding us BS.
The majority of the team are guys from the JF squad who have missed JF selection, but they will be heartened next week when they travel to Fiji to play the Silktails. Obviously Peni will feel right at home in Fiji & will be a big change from being loaned to Mounties last year.
If they missed JF selection, the team should have entered Sydney Shield rather than Ron Massey
some of the boys in the team are SG BALL players, ABIT confusing this ron massey team, another member was saying its one level down from nsw cup
Only 3 of the 17 playing Massey Cup today were named in the 2023 SGBall squad of 47.
Ryde Eastwood coughed up a lot of ball, Craig Garvey's work at dummy half was messy but the Hawks will be happy with a win after the way they finished last season when Fiji put 50 on them and then in the final game St Marys led 48-0 at half time.
Epa Navale Snr is 48. His son, Epa Jnr, one of several players from the Wests NSW Cup squad playing for Ryde Eastwood last night, is about 24.
