Bulldogs to bank on finals experience
http://www.sportsfan.com.au/bulldog...xperience/tabid/91/newsid/209561/default.aspx

Canterbury are hoping their finals experience will matter when it counts the most, as they attempt to fight their way out of a sluggish end to the NRL regular season.
The Bulldogs, Melbourne and North Queensland are the only sides to qualify for every NRL finals series, including this year, since 2012 when coach Des Hasler moved to Belmore.
Canterbury is the only club to play in two grand finals over that period.
They have suffered successive defeats in two disappointing efforts against Brisbane and North Queensland in recent weeks and must now rely on results to go their way in the final round if they are to secure a top-four spot.
The Dogs face South Sydney in their final round match on Friday.
After that they begin yet another finals campaign and will be boosted by the return of prop Sam Kasiano.
Representative star Brett Morris said the Dogs wealth of finals experience would prove crucial.
"Going into big games you want to have people who have been in those situations before, they know what to expect," Morris said.
"It is a different game. What you see in the 26 rounds is completely different to what you get in the finals and any team can win on their day.
"To have that experience it definitely helps."
The Dogs are also expected to welcome back Sam Perrett from a neck injury when the finals start in two weeks time.

The sudden improvement of form in 2014 after capitulating to the Titans but go on and win every game to the GF is something I doubt will be repeated. Teams have worked our attack out and unlike 2014 it's clear we can't put points on the really good sides. We're going to just make up the numbers in September. In fact we won't win another game this year.

Agree with this , we also had spark in 2014 that we don't have now .. The flame is well and truly out

2014 was a massive fluke besides playing well in that Storm game. The draw opened up for us and we struggled to get past a injury depleted Manly and we were lucky to get into a arm wrestle against Penrith. We won't win another game.

If you remember that storm game, we scored virtually all our points in the first 20-25 mins, and pretty much held on for dear life the rest of the match.

This is No different to what we have done since then.

Remember The next final vs Manly in 2014 we charged tota 16-0 lead and we're all over them for 30 mins, and we squeaked by in golden point...don't forget the $10M man had a clear shot at FG at one point to win it but chose not to take it.

The prelim we got over the Panfers, after being in control the whole match, had to survive a late surge from the Panfers after they scored to close within 6 with 10 mins to go.

This consistent theme of not being able to close out a match through putting together an 80 min performance, has plagued us virtually all of Desmondo's career here. Good opposition is ALWAYS a chance of beating us because we never truly kill the game off by scoring points.

It's a mindset thing, and comes from the coach.

Fuck off Des

We won 3 golden point games in a row that year, we also lost 1 by golden point after leading 18-0 at half time.

We were lucky we got to play the storm and manly, both teams Des's style still seems to work against.

i don't understand how our performances can change so much, we played a good style against manly 1st round and souths on easter (not taking into account the other team just the way we went about our game) and now we have nothing, we are worse than the warriors

Bla bla bla I agree shut the flying fuk up and play footy what you get paid to do. Every crucial game they wana talk it up and say we are all pumped bla bla bla bullshit crap talk and then come out and get flogged. Lol the team is slowly losing respect from its supporters and if the board doesn't see this and fix it then we are in for a long ass shitty ride for the next few years

Why the fuck didn't they use their experience to secure a top 4 spot knowing how difficult it is to win the comp from outside the top 4

That's because they dont have much experience in grabbing a top 4 spot lol

Suspect because they are under workplace pressure from a 'cranky' dominating control freak coach who is crushing everyone into playing a style that is not working.

There is a consistency in all our games; that we run up points, then try to defend for 40 minutes. Maybe it's because we take too much out of our forwards in the first 40 minutes, then rely on them to do all the work in second 40. They always look unfit, and incapable of lifting in the second half. Better to let the backs have a go in the first 40, and keep our forwards fresh.
