I’m totally optimistic , it’s all new and fresh and we might struggle but the re build is what we needed, young ones competing for spots , being chucked in the deep end early learning what it’s like to lose and most people hate losing which will build character together through the tough timesIt’s good that Graham is back. Indicates to me that there has been some healing in the club which was sorely needed. Some supporters are never happy. It was blindingly obvious the team was going backwards in 2016 and 2017. Fresh eager faces with younger legs are coming through. Anything can happen, especially now that there is a genuine reserve grade competition back in the game that provides the experience stepping stone and tough testing ground between the juniors and NRL levels. The under whatever competition was a false indicator of NRL potential and did not provide the intensity and hardness that a genuine reserve grade competition provides. AND the dogs ended the season on top in reserve grade against some pretty fair competition. Graham’s observations on Kieran Foran reflect what most of us in the kennel have been thinking. The guy’s body is broken and we doubt he will make it to the end of this season. And that is just reality and no disrespect to his desire and effort. If a miracle happens and he performs then terrific. The club’s future does not hinge on Kieran Foran, but on younger players we need to identify and nurture. Whatever number on the ladder we end up on at the end of the season is not as important as seeing us go UP the ladder and that starts with being competitive in every game.
Thanks to Messrs Dib/Hasler it does hinge on Foran @ approximately $1.2mil a season translates to a big investment financially & in football terms. Due to inflated contracts (backended) Eastwood,Morris,Hopoate,Tolman,Klemmer,Mbye & the over inflated Woods contract means that you don’t have the funds to bring quality players to the club nor take the gamble on promoting/developing promising youngsters. It’s good that Graham is back. 6 to 8 2019 possibly then 4 to 6 2020.Would you guys be happy with a 8th-10th finish in 2019 and a 4th-8th finish in 2020?
Well that's the price you pay for giving a coach more power than the CEO. Fuck me dead Dibshit stuffed up our club something good!Looks like everyone is just getting excuses ready for Pay.
A pass is considered a success and a result towards the desired direction, obviously it isn't the ultimate success. Anything less than 8 isn't good enough and shows we aren't moving forward. The level of most teams in the NRL isn't exactly high so a minimum 8th place finish isn't unreasonable if we make improvements and sort out some of our issues.Do people understand what a 'Pass' is? If you go below that its a fail. If things go your way more then they don't then you will be higher. Will I be happy finishing 8-10? well no. But a Pass is not a reason to celebrate, its just not a reason to cut your wrists.
So are people saying that if we sneak into the 8, they'll still want Pay sacked and the majority of the team not re-signed?

We will be competitive IF our top 19 play as much as good conditioning, luck & attitude allow.
The Club will be a position to bring quality for season 2020 & be a genuine top 4 contender....
Right now, our backline from 1-7 is the most underwhelming in the NRL!
Reality people!
lol "make or break".Canterbury great Graeme Hughes warns 2019 is make or break for Kieran Foran as the Dogs playmaker attempts to emerge from a three-year injury-affected lull.
Hughes says Foran is in the last chance saloon after three seasons marked by off-field issues and being restricted to just 38 games in that time.
Carrying a reported $1.2 million price tag, Foran failed to make an impact in his first season at Belmore which was ended by a toe injury.
In his prime Foran was a fearless ball-runner who was adept at putting the defensive line in two minds.
But after being marred by back, shoulder and hamstring injuries in recent years, some have questioned his future in the game.
“Kieran Foran will be one of the most watched players in 2019,” Hughes said at the Jack Newton Celebrity Classic golf tournament.
“He’s drawn that attention to himself in many respects.
“I haven’t met him a lot. But I do expect that after having the year out, the expectation on him from the fans will be huge.
“His career is up for grabs in 2019. If there’s going to be contracts or a career anywhere for him in the game, he has to show people in 2019 that he’s got something a bit special to offer.”
Foran is contracted to the Bulldogs until the end of 2020 and coach Dean Pay will need him to fire if his rebuild is to be successful.
Josh and Brett Morris, Aaron Woods and Moses Mbye have all been moved on over the last 12 months as a result of the club’s salary cap squeeze.
Hughes said Pay and the Dogs board, which swept to power in February, deserve to be given another two to three years to get the “family club” back on track.
“If they make anywhere from eighth to 10th it will be more than a pass mark,” Hughes said.
“The previous administration has made a mess of the club and people have got to give the new administration time, you’ve got to be patient because of what happened last year.
“I think if you’re going to really rate the Bulldogs, you rate them on 2020 and 2021.”

exactly this ...lol "make or break".
Foran is already broken and has been broken for quite a number of years now. This year won't prove any different.
He's a drain on our salary cap and needs to be disposed of immediately.
Foran should have shut the fuck up, now he’s put even more pressure on himself. Self dignity and pride should have been enough, but no, he had to open his mouth and say what a great off season he’s having.
Exactly how do you suggest we do that?lol "make or break".
