The facts is the Chooks lack experience in the halves and Benji could solve that problem, like a 1 armed Cronk did. He's not going to go there to win games on his own (which he was expected to do at the Tuggers), he'll be there to control the game and the players around him. There is enough talent around him that he doesn't have to actually "play" all that well, just make sure that the rest of the backline gets the job done.

This has been my thoughts exactly since they released Flanagan & haven't replaced him with anyone yet. It makes no sense to get rid of a rookie half in a team still within a premiership window & replace them with a rookie half

Keary is the experience in the halves, he needs to step up. They need to develop a young half beside him. Walker or Lam.

When the fuck do the Roosters ever develop players, they just buy them.

Radley
Taukeiaho (previously Warriors, but developed at the Roosters)
Tupou
Tupouniua
Verrills
JWH (previously Manly, but developed at the Roosters)

...and probably others.

That's just a myth which you're using to feed you bias towards the Roosters. Every club needs to buy the right top experienced players when needed and available, e.g. Cronk and Tedesco. If you can pick J/B. Morris up for peanuts why wouldn't you.

The Mole: Sydney Roosters a surprise suitor for services of legendary half Benji Marshall
By The Mole - 4 minutes ago

Benji Marshall farewells Wests Tigers fans with a personal message.

The Sydney Roosters are set to make a late bid to sign former Kiwi superstar Benji Marshall.
At 35, Marshall was considering retiring after not being re-signed by Wests Tigers at the end of last year.

Marshall has been shopped around throughout the NRL butg up until now there hasn't been any takers.

But the Roosters are nervous about their halfback options and are attempting to get Marshall into their ranks for $150,000 for one season.

The club has doubts over Luke Keary's health following a series of concussions in the past two seasons.

They cut Kyle Flanagan at the end of last season and have two options in Sam Walker and Lachlan Lam - but both are young and lacking in NRL experience.
