Does he have to face a real court, or the abo "get out of jail free because of my skin colour" court?
His excuse will be, because of 'invasion' day, he was full of rage.

His people are still traumatized over what happened.

What's the difference between what Dylan Walker allegedly to his Fiance and what Barba has allegedly done? Manly should be terminating his contract as well.

It could be about what's in his contract. With a rap sheet longer than Todd Carney's, Barbas contract would have had a very long section on behaviour.

Maybe something to do with Waiter keeping it at a home whereas Barba is enough of a dipshit to do it in a public place like a casino of which a sponsor operates

Because interrupting someone trying to game is the equivalent of putting your hand into a lawnmower.

Ben Barba’s NRL career all but over as Todd Greenberg weighs in

MICHAEL CARAYANNIS, The Daily Telegraph

NRL boss Todd Greenberg has promised to rub Ben Barba out of the game for good after North Queensland sacked the wayward star because of domestic violence allegations.

Barba’s NRL career is all but over with the former Dally M player of the year failing to appear in a match for the Cowboys having joined the side from English Super League club St Helens this year.

The Cowboys on Friday axed Barba after CCTV footage emerged of him in an alleged altercation with his partner Ainslie Currie at a Townsville casino on Australia Day. Police are now investigating.

Greenberg said there was no way back for Barba if footage showed violence against his partner.

“If you’re violent against a woman you can expect to be removed from the game,” Greenberg said.

“It starts now. If (the footage) shows violence towards a woman there is no debate. Ben Barba will be out of the NRL immediately and I can’t see him ever returning.

“If the evidence is there he won’t return under my watch.

Todd Greenberg said there was no way back for Barba if footage showed violence against his partner

“The off-season has been a complete train wreck.”

Greenberg has yet to see the footage.
Greenberg and Barba have a long history together. The NRL boss was Canterbury chief executive when previous allegations of domestic violence were raised when Barba was playing for the Bulldogs.

Barba was never charged and Greenberg was cleared of any wrongdoing by an independent investigation.
Greenberg said he was comfortable with his handling of Barba’s case at Canterbury.
“You can only act with what is in front of you which is information,” Greenberg said.
Barba was sacked by Cronulla after testing positive for cocaine during their 2016 premiership celebrations. He had a failed stint in French rugby before starring in the Super League.

Violence against women is a perma ban (and rightly so). Threatening a woman and child to kill them, followed by beating the shit out of a father infront of his family in their own home. Only stopping when police arrive at gunpoint. All documented and captured on cctv. Means you'll make your Broncos debut next season

I thought Walker did it in view of his neighbors if I read correctly at the time.

That is one of the sad things about DV. It can definitely work both ways ( woman can be the instigator) and unfortunately the self worth of the person being assaulted is so low that they truly think they deserve it or that it will get better. She needs to get out of there ASAP, should have done so before ,yet the reality of it all is that even though things have been clouded for years they have had more kids together. Think of them, four little girls growing up in a house where bad things happen. It is a vicious cycle....

On a different note, surely close family would have had suspicions seeing this is well, sort of confirmed by CCTV vision. Why no actions from them? Have they tried to help?
Unfortunately it is learnt behaviour.

Domestic violence will have probably been in his family and just accepted as normal.

If he was a real man he would have broken the vicious cycle, but unfortunately he has propagated the pattern.

Now the cycle continues and his daughters are being taught that this is acceptable. Hopefully they are stronger than him and not put up with that sh!t.

Watch the video, most of Lodge's punches missed.

I will defend Lodge, until he leaves the Broncos.

Just like 99% of posters here defended Barba until he left.

Your ex CEO etc defended Barba etc & swept other things he did under the huge carpet.

The broom bristles broke off, it was used so much.

He’s already split with her a few times.

She’s obviously there for the money and kids but hopefully she smartens up and leaves him this time.
Very simplistic assumption.

I have a mate who is a copper and did a stint in the Domestic Violence Unit in Kogarah (many years ago now).

He went to a lot of trouble to re-house and re-locate a lot of victims and their families, and yet even after all the effort and wasted resources to get them out of that situation he found that the vast majority of 'customers' were repeat victims.

There is something about the mindset of 'victims' where the perpetrator completely destroys there self worth and self esteem and they feel that they deserve being 'punished'.

I am sure that there are smarter people on here who can explain why, all I know is that Abusers know how to pick out victims and can completely destroy a persons sense of self-worth if they are that way inclined.

Strong people who will not put up with that sh!t will never allow themselves to be in that situation in the first place.

I have come to respect you and appreciate your sense of humour (must admit it took a while).

Unfortunately defending an abuser like Lodge, just because he plays for the Broncos, is just wrong.

No sport, or sport participants, should ever be placed above the real world.

Whether his punches connected or not the intention was there.

If that was my daughter he did that to, he would be 'mysteriously disappeared'. That behaviour should never be accepted just because he can play football.

And if you want to go back and check, I never defended Barba when he played for us.

I believe Barba and Lodge should both be in gaol and sucking on Big Bubbas cock every night.

Dildo Walker has a tranny brother/sister thing, AND it wasn't caught by a shit tonne of CCTV cameras.

How come there hasn’t been more references to the Bulldogs? Surely the DT can get some nice traction to kick the Dogs out of this story..

I’m all for this stance
But
As @Realist90 points out all the time,
Equality?
Should it not be violence of any kind?

Shouldn’t we expect sensible behaviour from our players?

Should this stance not be limited to women?

How will the feminist view this?

So what’s your defence of Lodge? He did nothing wrong?
