How long typically does a player take to find confidence in their body after a season-long injury?
I suspect that is playing a large part of his issue, his mind dominated by being afraid of being injured and playing like that, rather than being occupied by playing what's in front of and around him.

One is less risk to us, whereas two is more confidence boosting for him.
If minimum wage and classified as depth/experiment, I'd consider 2.
