Atkins definitely looks after penrith though. He went to school at one of the footy schools there but was apparently a massive tosser

No question some of them are tossers.
Steve Clark defined the word.
There’s short man syndrome in some cases too.
But the players have to respect the officials and as usual the bleaters go quiet about ‘bias’ and ‘corruption’ after we end up winning the game :-).

I do agree but Atkin’s reaction was a bit precious and over the top too. It’s like Josh said he had just pounded his mum in the change rooms

He has to exert his authority, otherwise he’s lost control of the game and if players get a sniff of that they’d exploit it further. Reed knew it too and he said ‘Shut up Josh!’. Atkins probably didn’t need to throw the ball though, that was a bit much.

How was Alamoti called for a knock on? Hunt aimed at the ball in the tackle, the ball wiggled around in Alamoti’s arms but still had control of the ball. They call knock on for everthing
I think that one was easy for them to miss. It looked like a knock on in real time. If we had a challenge to use, that one would have been overturned.

Bullshit ! Respect isn’t given so nonchalantly especially to an amateur that can’t control his own ego sorry this isn’t the Supreme Court
It's the rules of the game. Top grade sport is for professionals, and the role of referee is respected regardless of the individual.
Otherwise, we descend into the thuggery of soccer, where referees are bashed by testosterone overloaded boguns.

Blame the league for making refs untouchable, they should be pointed out (properly) and held accountable and until then they will be the same.
Refs are often dropped for poor decisions. That doesn't change the score, but it is their equivalent of being suspended for foul play.

Please, it’s a game of footy. This ref reacted to a 2nd graders “swear word” as it were the most heinous verbal abuse directed at his mother.
I would bet that 90% of these fans talking about respecting the refs are the same ones that have a sook that Ciraldo doesn’t blast the refs in the post match presser

Doesn't happen often enough, how many games are won or lost on the backs of their poor calls and that doesn't even take into account their bias.

Not saying that what Josh did was right, but if the NRL were fair dickum they sould drop ref's and even fine them for some of the bad decissions they make.
I have seen far to many bad calls against us, and yesterday was one of the worst preformance by a ref against us.
To many and continous bad calls against any team will eventually destroy the players confidence and moral.

Any competent referee treats the Waddell/ Lomax situation with a short, sharp whistle to stop play, make sure the scrum of players separates and confirms it is the Dragons ball (even though it's the wrong call). Yes, there was a slight bobble, but Lomax never cleanly stripped - hence Waddell staying on the ball. At worst, it is a Penalty to the Dragons, but 100% not a sin bin.

He lost control of Warriors Storm game on ANZAC day as well. He is not cut out to be a referee - far too emotional and puts himself up on a pedestal. He binned Walker for 'rough contact', who then fought it at the judiciary and won (Because the tackle wasn't even worth a penalty in the first place).

The sin bin was a result of Grub's actions in the first half.

There were also other plays that made zero sense. Burns getting rag-dolled over the sideline after he was clearly on the ground is a penalty every day of the week.

Thankfully, we had enough grit and determination to get the W despite the ineptitude.

At half time I'm thinking we should be 20 points in front, we bombed so many tries and St George scored off an intercept, didn't look like scoring otherwise and their goal kicking is well known to be shit. And yet Alexander and Parker both stick by their original pick that St George would win. At that point my suspicions were raised, what do they know that I don't? Is the betting market influencing their choice of who is going to win and who is going to lose.

It was just so strange that, despite the evidence, they never wavered from their pre game choices, perhaps they are just biased farkwits.

Now watch that horses ar$e Annesley come out today and say "it was close, but the ref made the right call on Waddell"

Instead of what he should be saying; "he completely f%$Ked it and we're sorry we needlessly put all you Dogs fans on blood pressure meds for the last 20 mins"

Having said that, we should have iced those two tries late in the first half...

Still no excuse for the sin binning

More concerning is this supposed senior player having to be calmed down by blokes in his own team.

Exactly, blood pressure overload

With regards to not icing the try’s. It seems to be happening a lot this year. where we are throwing the pass way to early before drawing I’m the defender.

When Burton went through. If he he just pinned the ears back he scores. Instead he throws a terrible pass. Which is so early it gave the defender heaps of time to cover the support player.

I am 100% for the throwing it a round style though. Particularly with our current injury list. Teams handle a structured high percentage attack coming at them. When you have the offloads and low percentage plays. Sure we might drop a few but it will get the opposition working hard.
