Now we have barrett Locked in its very important we get the assistants right too
Who do we chase ? I can see Steve g being retained but back to cup fulltime
For a purely attack minded assistant I’d go for Jason Taylor very smart attack minded assistant . Barrett is smart accross the board attack and defence but then he can focus on the overall if we can jag carty as his right hand and defence coordinator a decent strength coach and barrett can be the overall again.
I think we will improve out of sight with the roster we Will have. Even that bloke Alex corvo trainer source him out . If barrett don’t have the help around him he won’t do diddle. Getting the roster is one thing but developing what we have is important too

Or if any other suggestions spit ball it

It will all be down to who Barrett wants. He'll almost certainly bring John Cartwright as one assistant. I'm not sure who the others would be. I can't see Georgallis staying..

But the club definitely needs to put a greater emphasis this time around on assistants and support staff. I'm sure after Barrett's first stint at Manly he's realised the importance of that.

Not a fan of Jason Taylor at all for 2 reasons. I’ll never forget in the week leading up to the 2012 grand final he wrote an article about our playing style, essentially calling us cheats and calling on the refs to keep an eye on our block plays. One of the most disgraceful pieces of journalism I’ve ever seen with an obvious agenda.

The second reason is I can’t stand the blokes head.

Don’t want that dweeb anywhere near the club.

I'd think about Mick Ennis as a specialist dummy half coach.
Agree. He need his competitive edge put back into the forwards and we need his tv PR skills for the reputational rebuild as well...but its up to Barrett as he has to have complete faith in his assistants....but we dont want, or need, yes men with no real skills to offer as we have with the past 2 coaches mates.

Georgie to stay on as CCup coach to mentor and implement Barrett's new style/plans there as well. These 2 should have a great rapport if they are bouncing ideas off each other atm with the team and CCup coach should be every bit as important, if not more so, than HC Assistants.

If Barrett needs Taylor to help with attack then we picked the wrong coach. Barrett needs help in the defence area, he is after all the attack coach at Penrith. I think having Georgallis around would be a good idea as he knows the players well and that gives Barrett a head start, of course he will develop his own opinions, but Georgallis has the history.

The club should make it a priority to hire the Rorters accountant, would be money well spent. Also to pay into the journalist slush fund to get good positive articles written.

We don't need Taylor because the main reason the board chose Baz is he's an attacking minded coach. Like any senior exec its up to Baz to choose his assistants that he can trust to have a constructive and productive working relationship with and the board apply due diligence with his shortlist. GM Steve Price needs to take ownership of player welfare and life mentoring etc or hire the appropriate person. It's inevitable that there will be another Coffs Harbour, CHN/Okunbor type incident in the future because many of today's players aren't mature or smart enough to behave like responsible adults. Baz shouldn't have to waste his energy and time life mentoring these man babies. Someone has to babysit and educate these guys daily about basic life to reduce the frequency and probability of those incidents.

I doubt Stevie g will go in as care taker coach this year and not be retained in some way or form next year.

Nasheed here,
ANTHONY SEIBOLD!
***Disclaimer. This opinion is so controversial i literally got banned fir a week having it.not joking!***
This is a no brainer for me.

I think its pretty much confirmed he wont be at the bronco's next year. I cant see any scenario bar winning almost every game herein where he retains his job. Eve then, with all the negative publicity, Pangai leaving, even in that scenario he isnt certain.

Thang be, Seibold isnt a bad coach, at least he has elements of a great coach even if he isnt full package.

This is the guy that coached souths and revitalised their attack with triple wraparound plays and turned them into an attacking machine!! Cook became the best hooker in the comp under him. The guy has something, otherwise the premier rugby league team in the entire world would not have signed him to a 5 year 900k a season contract in replacement of a coaching icon. That just doesnt happen.

FO SHO he has likely made some errors, but consider he is not unlike Pay. He inherited no halves, a 900k player thats worse with injuries than Foran, and a 700k guy named Darius that has fully tuned out and in retirement mode.

Barrett cannot be our head coach and ATTACK COACH, So lets get seibold to regroup and do what he does best. i think between them, our attack will be sorted.

Truth is he will pop up as someones assistant regardless.

hopefully such a controversial opinion wont get me banned again. nasheed.

Daily Telegraph claiming that Barrett is after Dan Ferris from the Titans to join as the strength and conditioning coach. They worked together at Manly.

This was the quote:

"Gold Coast strength-and-conditioning coach Dan Ferris is on his radar.

Ferris worked with Barrett at Manly and the pair could be reunited at Belmore next season."

All Seibold had was
1. Decent forward pack getting him quick play the balls.
2. That gave Cook space to run, but he usually just quickly fired a pass 2 wide straight to Walker.
3. This got Walker straight over the advantage line playing out to Inglis etc.
He literally had nothing else bar a flash of cook brilliance through the middle.

Because Broncos
1. Don't have a good hooker
2. Don't have a good 6 willing to think and play fast Broncos are pure shit and they have a better pack than Souffs did.
Anthony has been found out.

It's funny how Pay got the sack because basically our attack sucked. So the guy the board chose to replace him with was the guy responsible for the attack in Steve Georgallis... Now i think he has Shifty with him helping out the attack. Steve Antonelli was helping run defence but he quit after Pay got sacked. Probably not happy the guy that couldn't run the attack got the promotion or a show of loyalty to Pay...

So who does Barrett bring? Well he isn't currently a first grade coach so it's not like the team he's in now is his team, and he doesn't have the clout of a Hasler, so firstly it would be interesting to see who the club allows him to bring and secondly who he has in mind that wants to come with him.
