These shootings always remind of the doco ‘Bowling for Columbine’ by Michael Moore..about the shooting of school kids in Columbine Colorado in 1999.. you may not always agree with his political view but by gosh that was an eye opening documentary..It was made in 2002 ..nothing has changed..

hard to enact gun control laws in the US with their second amendment

I will never understand what goes through a person's mind when they hurt children but it is a particular depth of evil to go into a school with a handgun and rifle and kill 19 children

Problem in usa is they don't have enough guns. If everyone had 1 then someone could have stopped him.

That's the American POV
Unfortunately this is completely true. As SOH said, without the majority of people having guns, most people have time to cool down and not go on killing sprees. If half the money invested in guns over there easspent on mental health services, they'd have a much safer country.

The right of US politics and the gun nuts would say, "Well at least they died free..."
Na not at all but nice misinformation, goes hand in hand with you thinking liberals went too far right lmao.
This isn’t a fun issue, this is a severe mental health issue that’s been left unchecked. Go look at the stats of Chicago and the gun crime there albeit with strict gun laws. This is a disgusting event and the indivial should be held accountable not people who are law abiding citizens which is the overwhelming majority.
Rip to the innocent lives lost. There is never an excuse and it’s about time people are given proper help and not just told it’s normal you feel this way and left alone.

following on from the previous thing, anybody who thinks the NRA or the gun lobby is pushing back against gun control is a conspiracy theorist freak and is totally illogical, spreading misinformation

why would they want to do that?

Whoa, looks like it was an inclusive school shooting.

Truly awful. Another round of ‘thoughts and prayers’ and nothing else from US ‘Leaders’.

Tragedies like this shouldn’t be political but it’s inevitable given the ease of accessing guns under their laws. I don’t want to get into the debate about Roe v Wade etc but I find it slightly ironic that the party who claims to want to protect life from the start seem OK with those lives being lost less than 20 years later just to appease their base and get their votes for protecting the second amendment. Hugely hypocritical.

So glad I don’t live there.

What the hell is wrong with Murica?

This is why I hate our country kissing their ass all the time. They are an absolute mess. I'd rather stay close to the UK Monarchy etc than be associated with the morons running Murica.

I am sick of the mass shootings, sick of the inaction from the incompetent clowns in Murica.

Biden's America
Eh?

- DC Sniper (2002, 17 dead, under Bush)
- Virginia Tech (2007, 33 dead, under Bush)
- Sutherland Springs (2017, 27 dead, under Trump)
- Las Vegas (2017, 61 dead, under Trump)
- El Paso (2019, 23 dead, under Trump)

And yes, there were mass slaughters under Democrat governments too - Columbine, Sandy Hook, Pulse Nightclub and today to name some.

But to suggest this is a partisan issue is clearly ridiculous - it’s a cultural issue unresolved by successive governments who won’t change things because it’ll cost them money and votes. Pathetic.

Really?
So you’ll ignore:

It's successive years of no one with balls. Blaming the gun lobby is a huge cop out. If you are President you have more power than a gun lobby.

Murica = JOKE. they are poisoning the world with shit like Kardashans and mass shootings becoming normal. Absolute cesspool of a society and idiotic patriotic gun mentality.

To sum up, it's not a political thing, it's a Murika thing.
