Would just like to thank everyone who passed on their wellwishes when I announced the other half had cancer.

In a cruel twist of fate, he developed a DVT, and ended up with a Pulmonary Embolus. At 1.28pm this afternoon, he passed away.

You never expect this to happen, nor do you expect to ever have to sit with someone you care about as the impending sense of doom takes over. I'm still just so numb.

In case you ask, why didn't they try to save him? He was a Not For Resus patient. Had the doctors done anything to revive him, they would've been charged with assault.

*sigh* So much left unsaid, and so much I'll never be able to do.

i have no idea what DVT is, i just assumed it was related to the cancer... sorry :(

edit: oh it's a blood clot. i suppose cancer is one of the most common reasons why people get them.

blood clot. started in his leg, migrated to his lungs. pulmonary embolus moves pretty quick.

you have nothing to be sorry.

Deep vein thrombosis.

Blood clooting in your veins, after a long period of non movement alot of times.

Gave every business air traveller a huge scare.
