2024 Final 4 - Other Team Lists and Game Discussion

Garbage player being carried by the storm system and team, **** couldn't run more than 5 meters for us without being pushed back 7 meters, he still gets out played and exploited by better players he goes up against due to how weak he is still lol

I expect the Panthers to target him with their strong/aggressive second rowers and superior centers, he will get eaten alive when the pressure is put on him I believe

Bro he was solid in defence in the last game. Maybe didn’t do much in attack but Made so many one on one crucial tackles . He has been excellent for storm in the last 2 years.

I think people don't realise how hard it is to defend at centre, especially for a player that was a FB all through lower grades. Meaney been doing a great job.

He is signed for next year as well, got extended mid year. His price will probably go up too high beyond that, but he is coming along nicely. He is no Critta obviously, but I enjoyed him belting Sharks off the kicks. He should have passed to Turuva early in the game, but apart from that he had bloody good game.
Good to see him doing well.
I don't buy the narrative of us pushing him out. A good opportunity came along and Gus didn't let him pass it up, largely due to our rebuild and having to blood players way too early eg Averillo.
If Taylan May didn't fuck his career, I do think Alamoti would still be in reserves.

From a Dogs perspective there was nothing wrong with moving him on, you picked up Critta, Kiraz is a weapon plus you went in on Xerri, not really a spot for him. Worked out pretty well for all concerned.

Ah, I missed the extension. Only for one year though, still doesn’t show long term belief. But likely you still had the May issue to deal with and he’s now gone. Definitely has potential, but needs to be defensively better which is why I wasn’t that upset when he left the Dogs. Storm will be a tougher assignment than Sharks, but four in a row would be an amazing achievement.
I'm led to believe that there are discussions about extending further. He is still Flegg eligible, the ceiling potential is high. We may get priced out of it though, something we are used to sadly.

The price of success. Happens to every team when they go through a purple patch. You’ve got probably the best nursery in the game to regenerate.

Agree, I think mainly though it was a decision in the best interest of the player, eg Alamoti. I'm not fussed on losing players in this scenario. Even though he was only in FG a short time, sadly our club scarred Alamoti, good to see him come out the other side.

Funny the biggest attendance is still our round 1 loss :nomouth: haha. Let’s look after Storm and roosters and Penrith and sharks. Their 50k fans combined will help grow the league :joycat: last night was 30k and the game in Melbourne was 30 something. Our last 2 games of the season was 32 and 35. Then 50k for our elimination final loss :p

Kiraz was busted, young and playing in the same side and he looked light years ahead of Alamoti?
Alamoti is 3 years younger than Kiraz. I’m a big fan of Kiraz he’s a fine player.

People can bag him all they like he’s gone to another club, got a chance, scored two tries in a prelim and now in a grand final. Not bad for a flop. He can kick goals as well and our fans bag out our goal kicking.

We gave up too quickly with Alamoti.

We gave up too quickly with Alamoti.
Way too quick. He was our best junior in the pathways grades and as soon as he gets to first grade he’s sent packing. Was odd we gave up since we talked about being a development club and want to develop from our pathways. He dominated junior teams including that undefeated Matts side. We had a very good year in 2024 and Alamoti has really started to develop. He only turned 20 this year. He has way more upside.

Khaled Rajab wins the NSW Cup.

Besides the fact you don’t judge a kid by how quickly one of his peers develops, as some develop sooner than others, they are totally different players…

Kiraz wasn’t lighting up our attack last year. Nobody was. He was still able to shine through kick returns and taking tough carries out of yardage. Kiraz also made his debut in 2022, so was a little more experienced.

debuting at centre in a team that wasn’t firing in attack and was completely overhauling its defensive systems, Alamoti was on a hiding to nothing. He is a very talented local junior and I’m not sure why we gave up on him.

Dearden is a perfect example of why you shouldn't let kids go so soon. Brisbane would do anything to have him back.

Alamoti needs to sharpen up a few areas, a lot will come will with experience. Of some magnitude you could say it’s tax for Critta, though I wouldnt necessarily dwell on not retaining him. Less pressure in that Penrith outfit probably the right move for him at the time, less uncertainties and headlines. Has the attributes they were on show yesterday but his not starting centre over a season matieral as of yet that we needed at the time.
