You sure? Because the nrl logo looks like the new one
Yea you might be right. Had a bit of a search and I would guess they are part of the new “deadly choices” retro range. Can’t purchase them though. They use them to encourage indigenous people to do free health checks. Pretty cool idea.

TPJ is looking the fittest I've seen him. That's not something opposition want to see!

Re May: Whose to say if we are signing May that it's not Taylan or Terrell?

New Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo will name a leadership group rather than an individual to replace retired skipper Josh Jackson this season.

Jackson led the Bulldogs through some troubled times over the past five seasons before making the surprise call to hang up the boots in October - and finding a new captain is proving a difficult task.

Ciraldo is expected to name a group of two or three players to lead the club as a result in coming days.

New signing Reed Mahoney is certain to be among the select group, while star winger Josh Addo-Carr, utility back Matt Burton and respected English forward Luke Thompson are also in the mix.

The Bulldogs are expected to be among the big improvers in 2023 after splashing out on Mahoney (Eels), Viliame Kikau (Panthers), Ryan Sutton (Raiders), Andrew Davey (Sea Eagles), Franklin Pele (Sharks), Hayze Perham (Eels), Fa'amanu Brown (Wests Tigers) and Josh Reynolds (Hull FC) for the start of the Ciraldo era.

They are also looking at the long term, signing Bronson Xerri (returning from drug ban) and Stephen Crichton (Panthers) for 2024 as well as a host of talented young players.

Yeah Thompson is likely not going to even be here next year and is also pretty quiet. RFM is a better choice IMO

Thompson and JAC were co-captains last season when Jackson missed a game due to covid. Thompson is playing for us this season and is a senior player with lots of experience, it doesn’t matter whether he will be playing for us next year or not. Maybe Burton will be ready, willing and able to be captain next year, Mahoney will have been with us for a year then, maybe someone else will stand out this year and put their case for being captain. A captain for this year is exactly that, not a captain for next year or the year after, CC will be selecting a captain for this season.

So... didn't Reynolds sign a $1k a week training agreement? According to this writer we've splashed out on him...

This is the first bad decision that CC has made. Not a fan of leadership groups at all. There is always a leader amongst the team.

The writer describing Burton as a utility back is some top tier passive aggressive hate fkn clown ****

I agree regarding Thompson. Many are quick to bag him, but a captain is chosen from players within the squad who command their team mates respect, and lead by example. Thompson may not live up to his price tag, but none of the kennel experts know his day to day output in regards to leadership within the playing group.
Many have stated they dont want to see a leadership group, but given Jacksons sudden retirement, and the fact that Ciraldo has just been appointed, and players like Mahoney, Kiks and Burton are still earning their stripes within our club, and players like JAC who is probably the best candidate, is probably too far from the action, and Thompson who may not be here next year, i think a leadership group works in the current situation. At the end of the year Ciraldo can take stock, and decide who the best candidate is.

Pangai was sitting out a large portion of yesterdays training. Not sure if it was an injury complaint
