Too many discrepancies
If we paid Klemmer 300k before FG

Now they saying he’s only on 400k

So in an era where Des gave everyone a massive pay rise they saying the beat prop in the game got fk all lol

good point, a pay rise of 100k in 5 years.

Elliot would have had a better pay rise in those 5 years. lol

Klemmer probably did get $400k for THIS year. I’d say he’s backloaded to the hilt and it evens out but that doesn’t fit into the managers or media’s agenda that he’s getting paid peanuts.

Lets try and keep this thread on track about the clubs response, rather than discussing the entire Klemmer saga over two threads (and having to merge them).

Why the club is sitting there in belmore not squashing these rumours which are just growing by the minute.

Doesn't the club have a responsibility to let the members know that there is no need to panic despite the telecraps and news limited of this world are already saying that Klemmer is signing a new deal with Knights.

Fucken pathetic.
As Howard mentioned... the issue is that Klemmer is away for 6 weeks. Hence any agreement on a contract extension/pay rise can't be undertaken/resolved until after christmas.

Isaac Moses the **** has bent the club over and fucked them via the media here as this speculation will fester until either Klemmer comes out, or until Jan / Feb when the club returns to preseason training.

You're a bit tough on him mate, there is no doubt that he grew up a true bulldog supporter and loved the club so much that he trusted it and signed with his heart not his head. Then in comes Woods he gets a manager who the gets in his ear, and the result is a very unhappy Klemmer, who is by far our most valuable player, and of course 30 pages of mostly repetish posts in the kennel, with no doubt more to come. I'd be very disappointed with our board if they cannot or will not pay him his true worth.
Wow, so props are worth $1m a season now. So if a prop is worth $1m a season, then a gun spine player would be worth what $1.5m - $2m a season. What a joke.

Never should any club pay a prop more than $700k - $800k at the absolute maximum. Until a prop sets up tries, kicks 40/20's, throws cut out balls, puts players through holes, plays 80 mins a game, touches the ball more than 3 or 4 times a set, organises a team around the park, has great defence and kicks goals from the sideline...until that happenes a prop shouldn't get anywhere near $1m a year.

But anyway, it's media bullshit. Bulldogs haven't even released him for him to be doing medicals.

How in the hell are the knights not breaking the anti-tampering rules. Our board needs to grow some fucking balls and come out and tell Newcastle to piss off !!

Our club is a joke. Absolutely piss weak

On the BSB this morning they asked the tigers CEO how close they came to signing Nathan Cleary. He said "not close at all because we couldnt talk him until November 1".

I dont trust our club now anyway.

They lied to us at the members forum saying we are cap compliant then they release Woods and Mbye a few months later.

The current admin are inexpereinced , we have only lost good players and signed average players and now Klemmer wants out also.

Lynnes far from Bullfrog.

This would never happen under Bullfrog.

Klemmer is on an NRL registered contract that has 2 years to run. Hence to change clubs both sides of that contract need to agree on the terms of that change. Otherwise he sees out his contract and there is no change in the contract necessary. We (as in Bulldogs) could offer to either increase his payments and/or extend his contract. A "lifetime" contract, such as what DCE has with Manly and Burgess with Souths might be attractive. Keeping in mind that DCE renigged on a contract with the Titans worth more in the short term to stick with Manly.

Or we could demand something from Newcastle (or whoever it really is chasing him) that we want/need more than Klemmer, money, players etc.

Klemmer strikes me as being very Bulldogs loyal, this is his manager doing his job and trying to get more money for his client, plus of course make some commission for himself. Ultimately Moses won't care were the money comers from, Bulldogs or someone else. I suspect that Klemmer has "gone on holidays" to let his manager handle what he doesn't want to handle himself. Maybe he's avoiding facing up to his team mates and coach because his loyalty might just make him decide to stay.

The bottom line, the ball is in the Bulldogs court, we literally have to do nothing, we can simply enforce the contract and it's game over. My tactic would be to wait until Klemmer is back, insist that he must be fully involved in any meetings and them look him in the eye and see if a deal can be worked out.

I don’t think klem would still wanna play even if he gets 750k, the knights offer is too good to say no. I reckon he’s head at Newcastle already.
Already on 700 average apparently which means his last 2 years should be over a 1m a season I dont understand what he is after if next 2 years money is about the same ?

According to channel 9 Andrew Hill commented on it yesterday. He said Klemmer was unsettled and he is expecting an approach from him soon regarding a release.

I have a feeling klem and his management are trying to pressure the dogs into paying klem well over the $700k a year which he is on which i think is very reasonable for him so i reckon the club is saying no way buddy cya later ,if this is true good on the clib

There’s something missing in this whole story! How the hell can the Knights be doing anything with Klemmer? Surely we haven’t given him permission to negotiate?
Article says they are giving him fitness testing wtf

Article says he has a “genuine” get out clause because of third parties surely that would be illegal

Dip shit negotiated his own deal will be getting same money over the next 2 years in either place needs stfu

Heard something very interesting about this entire saga this morning.

A certain well known journo who is pushing this story harder than anyone else, is getting a nice little christmas bonus out of it from a certain player manager.

and just on this

Klemmer is away for 6 weeks on holiday, so if there is any truth to him being unhappy, this is going to fester in the media (thanks to Moses) until early Jan, only creating further tension in our club and amongst the playing group.

Fucking media are scum... as are player managers.

Yesterday Klemmer was on a 6 week holiday with his family and today he is back in Sydney waiting for the Newcastle staff to give him a medical and rub down.
This is what happens when your a washed up journo who is an alcoholic... your stories don't line up when you press "SUBMIT".

It's called FACT.. that's what is missing.

It's the Rothfield and Moses show at the moment.

Some people want to continually blame Des for everything, Klemmers situation is 100% real..

I just a read a sms I received after midnight as a reply from a current board member ..we would not be in this position re Klemmer if the current board addressed TPA issues..

The TPA issue in general is murky, but the club refused to deal & address this issue with Klemmer when his management brought it up months ago.
Only error in your post. Klemmer was (and still is) self managed.

Why don't the Knights offer Eastwood a contract if they want a prop so badly?

If Isaac Moses got hit by a truck today, the NRL would be a better place.

It's Rothfield. Yesterday Klemmer was away for 6 weeks on holiday, today he's back getting medicals with a club he cannot even talk to because he's still contracted.

NRL contracts don't contain TPAs, because they are at arms length. TPAs are separate contractual agreements.

If Rothfield stopped punishing his liver for 5 seconds he'd know that.

Klemmer had one TPA pull out when the board changed. Since then Deliveroo and Burger Project signed on for a TPA with him and that covered the short fall.

If thats what Hill said, it means Isaac Moses has already approached Hill about a release.

Im sure we will be advised at the members forum tonight, because that will most probably be the only topic on the agenda.

Club is probably trying to work out how to soften the blow with some fringe first grade signing instead of telling Moses and Klemmer to shit the fuck up and stay put
