Like how Darren Britt was a Dog a couple of years ago.
Yes, back in the 90’s. His son Dean was with us a couple of years ago. Is it too much Henny or too many head knocks during those Brekky Point brawls? .Darren Britt - Wikipedia

For all your entertainment on here Nash (good and bad) - this is gold, very much needed on here at this stage of the season.Nasheed here,
Over the last 7 years, fans of the Canterbury Bulldoggs football club have had little reason to smile.
Salary cap dramas, board fighting, empty promises, injuries and most importantly, bad results on the field has led to a largely bitter fanbase both here on the Kennel and the greater fanbase at large.
Scanning the mood of the threads here, I thought I would lift your collective spirit by tallying the positive reasons and recent successes over the past ten years to remain hopeful and optimistic leading into the upcoming 2024 season.
1.Matt Burton.

During the Penrith Panthers thunder roll of the new decade, emerged one of the brightest prospects of the future. Matt Burton.
Whilst most naturally suited at centre, he is also adept at 5/8 where he is most suited to influence a teams on field success and utilise his impressive kicking game, leading to his nickname ‘The Russian’ due to his big bombs.
Stuck behind Jerome Luai and Nathan Cleary, the Bulldogg club were successful in fighting off rivals signature for the 22 year old. Matt has settled in well and has declared repeatedly he wishes to be a Bulldogg for life.
2.Board stability

After the turbulence of the Raelene Castle and Ray Dib leadership and the cost saving consequences of Greenbergs reign, doggs fans were desperately craving stability.
After a false start with the Anderson clan, a nepotistic appointment that promised so much yet delivered so little, through questionable decisions, picking fights with club legend George Coorey, and a procrastinatic watchful approach to recruitment, we finally found stability in 2021 through the anointment of the Lebanese John Khoury, who’s tenureship has seen a renewed sense of urgency regarding recruitment and the appointment of an ensemble cast including, but not limited to the commercially successful Andrew Warburton, financially secure Arthur Laundy and…..

A legend of Rugby League, both as a player, commentator, premiership and origin winning coach and most recently an Operations manager. Phil, also affectionately called ‘Gus’ to some has done and seen it all over four decades of success. He recently pulled the Penrith Panthers out of financial bankruptcy whilst simultaneously stabilising the clubs pathways, bearing fruit with the current thunder roll of the NRL team. At the Bulldoggs, we have seen strong strides made in
The junior pathway system and renewed strength in the player market. He is able to use his media position to convey the clubs stance and position on various matters and is a strong asset the club can continue to look forward to having onboard.
4.Nasheed

Nasheed arrived on the scene in 2015 and instantly became a cultural phenomenon and club icon.
The ‘Beast from the Middle East’ as he is affectionately known, due to his proud and real Lebanese heritage, the fan favourite, halfback and Lebanese community leader has stamped himself as the future and public club image and representation of the modern Bulldogg fan.
As feared as he is revered, his insight, intelligence and inside network has meant he has etched himself into the upper echelons of the club hierarchy, alongside past Icon Peter ‘Bullfrog’ Moore.

5.Back to Belmore

After two decades of calling Homebush home, with its corporate and financial perks offset by relatively empty, soulless home games, 2015 saw, after an 8 year push, home games partially returning to the clubs spiritual home, Belmore Sports Ground. Where they continue to play to this day!
6.Return of legends.

After various abandonments by club legends lost elsewhere, the club has enticed fan favourites and club legends back into the setup. Whether it’s Terry Lamb, Willie Mason and even SBW. This has helped build a culture of close knit history.
I hope after reason this you all have received a dose of optimism and insirpation and it has made you feel better about our club and are leaving this site today with a smile
