The club has no option but to look at the youths and lower graders.. we are struggling to attract players with NRL experience.. The count of players rejecting our appraoch but signing elseshwere Ive been told is 7 & thats just in this offseason..

the front office & football dept will have to improve their game if they want to attract good players for 2021.. no one will be coming this offseason..

We'll have to wait until this time next year to say 100% this is the case but it's hard to see how we're an attraction to those types of players without offering the money (like seriously what are we offering, we're a bottom four side on paper). I saw we offered JAC 350k, you'd hope that isn't true. We've gone in for a fair few players with some of them apparently over the line and we still haven't signed anyone. All we know is we've added nothing of worth to our roster for this year or next as it stands. I hope this youth thing isn't a cop out and we actually have some talented young ones coming through but I still find it hard to believe they're with us and not other clubs. We're three to five players of quality (depending on their level and position) off from being a top eight side. How are we going to get them? We'll be able to nab another mid season but besides that it's hard to see where they're going to come from. Some people might disagree but I believe we over performed last year and we're going to need another season like that or we're going to fall even further down the pecking order.

Money is the main issue. I know I sound like a broken record but people are still overlooking that. Hardly anyone has signed for another club for 2021 and not 2020 and there are 15 other clubs. Be patient

Give Britt a chance to prove himself in dogs colours before you write him off
If his name wasn't Britt then he wouldn't even be on the clubs radar. He's just an average player that we already have plenty of, I don't even see where he fits in because the only position he looked okay in was on an edge and he sure as shit shouldn't be starting there over others in the side.

I don’t see the market flooded with superstars around that price range though
All I hear are excuses, completely expected considering that's all the board does while also having certain members on here with connections to them :grimacing:

It keeps getting asked and never responded to, who exactly have we "gone in for" and "over the line" that we haven't signed and what/who is the source? We had only one, Koroisau, that I know of and we were outbid by Penrith plus he always wanted to go back there and play for Cleary again. I think that's actually worked out pretty well, we pushed Penrith into paying even more and that freed up Katoa as a value for money, experienced and quality back up for JMK should it be needed.

I agree that based on the start of last year we were 2, 3 or maybe 4 quality NRL players short. But after the last 1/3rd of season I'm not convinced that it will be the same for the start of this season. I think of the players that we have released and who is filling their positions. such as Lichaa & Brown out with JMK & Katoa in, Stimson & Britt in and Fualalo & Tualau out, etc. Allowing for positional swaps we have DWZ, Hopoate and Meaney for this year whereas last year we had Crichton, Olive and Montoya. DWZ is killing it, Hopoate is much more productive for us at centre than fullback and Meaney has progressed rapidly on the wing. Different positions for sure, but a net far better package.

There simply wasn't the Cap space available this year to do much in the way of recruiting anyway, let alone quality recruiting. But that didn't stop the journos linking us with every player, even those that were never leaving their current club, just name dropping to squeeze out a better deal. Next year is the real deal, where we genuinely have cap space and we will have this year to pinpoint the weaknesses that need to be filled.

That’s bullshit mate. Excuses or not they are fact based. I support the bulldogs, not any board member or coach. I want what is best for the club and that’s not instant success at the sake of totally fucking things up for years after it. Does that ring a bell?

You're a real glass half empty person aren't you, how about the ones we didn't resign in Brown, Fualalo, Lemuelu, Lichaa, Martin, Olive, Saddler and Tualau. They look like glass half full calls to me and they actually happened (or rather didn't happen), compared to speculation on who might or might not get resigned this year.

No, they're excuses. Who says the old board couldn't have sorted out this mess anyway? They were far more aggressive with their management style.

I called what this lot we're doing from day one and every passing day continues to prove me right. They simply say back and chat shit while the contracts run and so many fans ate that shit up. Now all of a sudden that we're approaching the magic 2021 season we're suddenly addressing staff shortages both in the coaching and admin side, we're suddenly doing more cross code work, we're suddenly getting specialist coaching, etc.

Doesn't take a fucking genius to work out we needed things like that, so tell me why it took so many years to get it done? It's not that long a process.

The members said they couldn’t when we voted them out. They were the ones that fucked up remember so zero faith for them to fix it.

You need to remember there needed to be a clean out of Hasler’s, Castle’s & Dib’s staff and friends. The election was only weeks before the season started. What organisation sacks everyone in one hit and who do you replace them with overnight? What specialist coaching are you referring to that weren’t there last year?

High and low lights of the first 2 years:

- Negotiated the Hasler settlement and avoided an expensive court case.

- Got Woods and MBye out the door to be cap compliant for 2018.

- Had to deal with Klemmer throwing his toys out of the pram and demanding a release. Then find a replacement which many of course poured scorn over.

- Had to deal with Mad Monday (admittedly partially the clubs fault).

- Set up the Greater Northern and North Coast feeder relationships.

- Started making changes to the football club staffing and structure.

I could go on.
They haven’t been doing nothing mate.

Funnily enough @Sancho2020 was a big fan of most of those names on that list. Probably explains why he’s so angry

Literally Martin and that's it. Once again you continue to twist facts, should be banned again.

None of those are great achievements.
