Everybody just calm the fuck down.
We've been outclassed by a better team. Warriors seemed to have a lot more time on the ground in defence, as much as I hate wrestling in the game, we can get better there.
Obviously we could have done with another trial game and it shows today.
The lads were gassed by 60-65 minutes.
A few rounds and match fitness will kick in and we'll be more competitive.
Napa, Lichha, RFM and Hoppa all played well today.
Not sold on Elliott at lock and Montoya at centre but need to give them a few more rounds before I'll pass judgement.

Montoya had a lot of opportunity last year to impress in his 15 games before he finally got dropped and his defensive reads which were poor then have not improved. This was a big issue for him last year and he looks absolutely lost.

Early on Elliot ran very direct and straight and with a bit of pace.

Our attack is still poor and predictable at this point in time but defence is okay even though we had 40 put on us.

You are right about the wrestle but we were all assured that the wrestle would stop. Until it does teams like the Storm, Souths, Roosters, Warriors will be streets ahead of others. Need a level playing field in that respect too and today the Warriors were allowed a lot on the ground with three tacklers at most times peeling away pretty slow not allowing us a quick play the ball.

Yes, the folly of one trial is haunting us again with some players only having one half of footy to try and gel and gain the all important match fitness. Our Canterbury cup side had a struggle but their fitness seemed better due to more trial games.

RFM looks like he’s put on too much size. He’s better suited to the middle. I’d replace him with Martin or CHN and move RFM to bench.

Least this will pump the breaks on any new contract for Pay. You can give him the excuses about the roster but there was so very low effort plays today and to not have a team ready for round 1 is inexcusable.

LOLLL... two season straight we’ve played Canberra in a trail and on both occasions we’ve been set up for a massive fail after coming out on top.

Pay was made to look good because the last month and a half of football that was played last season when there was nothing to lose and zero pressure on his football team.

haven't seen the game yet, so did we play the attacking ad lib style and bring back the entertainers as was spoken about thanks to our super new skills coach from school boy rugby?

did that lazy fat **** flopalolol actually prove me wrong?

did Napa prove me wrong and play huge minutes and eat big meters?

what about Montoya.....did he find any speed over the off season to actually out run a turtle? did he become an attacking weapon and reliable in defence

did Elliot manage to hang on to the ball? he did not run out of the line like a spastic?

It's only round one and we have a very different looking team, didn't look anywhere near our top side picked......tough game to play the Warriors at home in round one in what has been a very tough week for all of New Zealand......Look forward to our first home game of the season and hopefully a few changes and better performance against the Eels next week........We'll be a lot better for the run and I'll judge our year on next weeks performance.......a few changes are imminent.
