Why cant you just have a normal convo Ozman, seriously...

Spearing/Lucas
Gerrard/Adam
Meireles/Aquilani
Henderson/maxi/cole/kuyt?

This is how i see it
We are not going to be using that 4-2-3-1 a lot under kenny this season...

It will more likely be a 4-4-2 or a 3-5-2 with having attacking wingbacks

Where are we going to fit all these CMs?

Henderson has played alot of his career so far out wide....so i dont see how he would be wasted
So, has Theo Walcott and that's not his best position either.

Henderson is not a wide player, he likes to drive through the middle. If Liverpool pay what they did for him to camp out on the wing, I'll lol.

LIVERPOOL WANT THREE MORE
According to The Daily Mirror, Charlie Adam won't be the last signing at Anfield this summer.

The paper reckons Kenny Dalglish wants three more - a winger, a centre-half and a left-back.

The names aren't anything new - Stewart Downing, although they won't pay much more than the £15million they have already offered, Jose Enrique, but the £15million asking price is a problem, and they have also been 'quietly negotiating' for Scott Dann.

They may also bid for Monaco midfielder Park Chu-Young, to satisfy the money men.

Scott Dann is good. Not sure if he's what Liverpool need. I believe he is a lifelong Liverpool fan too.

Both him and Roger Johnson are good players in fact.

Alex McLeish says Aston have no intention of selling Stewart Downing at any price and remain determined to hold onto the Liverpool target.

The 26-year-old England international was the subject of a failed £15million bid from the Reds earlier in the week.

There has been speculation Liverpool will up their bid to £20million, but McLeish is determined to hold on to the player after losing Ashley Young and Brad Friedel in the transfer window already.

McLeish admits he has already spoken to Downing about his future and plans to speak to the former Middlesbrough favourite again when the squad returns for pre-season training.

"He had a magnificent season last year and really came to full maturity as a top player," McLeish told the Birmingham Mail.

"I understand why there's teams interested in him and that is what happens when you play well consistently.

"His performances last season were top drawer. That's why he's not for sale. The club don't want to sell him.

"I spoke to him briefly last week and I intend speaking to him again when all the lads are back in for training."

Young left Villa Park for Manchester United last month and the departure of Downing would leave McLeish desperately short of proven options on the wing.

Owner John W Henry would prefer Liverpool to stay at Anfield, but admits "realities" may force the club to move to a new stadium.

The issue of whether to leave their home of over 100 years has been a thorny one since it became apparent the new stadium in Stanley Park promised by former owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett was never going to materialise.

When Fenway Sports Group took control of the club last October they set about reassessing whether Liverpool could remain at a redeveloped Anfield - as their baseball franchise the Boston Red Sox had done at their historical home of Fenway Park.

But Henry has accepted there are a number of difficulties, from financial, logistical and geographical points of view, associated with revamping Anfield into a 60,000-plus capacity arena.

"Anfield would certainly be our first choice. But realities may dictate otherwise. So many obstacles..." he wrote on Twitter.

However, the club have distanced themselves from reports which suggested they were already resigned to building a new ground.

"The club's position on the stadium issue remains unaltered and no decision has been made," said a spokesman.

"We are continuing to examine both the options - the refurbishment of Anfield and the new stadium in Stanley Park.

"A huge amount of work on that is ongoing and an announcement will be made in due course."

Moving to Stanley Park would overcome many of the restrictions the club currently have to work with at Anfield as a new purpose-built stadium could provide the increased seating and hospitality opportunities required to boost matchday revenue.

And, having seen Manchester City follow the likes of Arsenal in securing a multi-million pound naming rights deal for their ground, a similar route for the Reds would help offset some of the estimated £300million building costs.

However, it has been reported that a decision from the Reds will have to be made swiftly, with Liverpool City Council's offer of a 999-year lease on the area earmarked only extended until September.

A move away from Anfield would certainly cause consternation among some supporters, but for the Reds to compete at the highest level at home and abroad they need to increase income from gate receipts, which is currently restricted by their 45,000 capacity.

Liverpool FC today made clear its frustration at the obstacles facing the potential re-development of Anfield.

The Club has been comprehensively exploring all options open to it in terms of new stadium development or expansion, which has included a study into the refurbishment of both its Main and Anfield Road Stands to increase capacity beyond 60,000 seats.

Managing Director Ian Ayre said: "In the nine months since the new ownership, an enormous amount of work has been undertaken in conjunction with leading architects, consultants, other industry experts and with Liverpool City Council to explore the building of a new stadium as well as exploring a refurbishment solution that could deliver the necessary growth in capacity, whilst maintaining the heritage and atmosphere that make Anfield uniquely Liverpool FC. However, with land/property acquisition, environmental and statutory issues creating barriers to our ambition, it looks increasingly unlikely there is any way we can move forward on a refurbishment of Anfield unless there are significant changes in those areas."

Commenting further on the options open to the Club, Ayre explained: "In terms of a Stanley Park stadium versus redevelopment, there is absolutely no question that a refurbishment of Anfield would come at a significantly lower cost than a new build. A new stadium of course also has its merits, being modern, more functional, and easier to construct. However, a new 60,000 capacity ground also comes at a significantly higher price, while at the same time only delivering roughly the same amount of revenue as a refurbishment of Anfield - with both options offering an uplift of approximately 16,000 seats each."

Added Ayre: "It's disappointing that based on where we are at the moment, we seem to be unable to press on with the more viable economic option of a refurbishment, but we remain committed to finding the best possible long-term solution. We already have a very healthy dialogue in place with several leading brands regarding naming rights for a new stadium, but like every major deal we have ever done, that just takes time to explore in full. We also have ongoing discussions with various parties around the financing of either facility. Our challenge now is to try to find a way to bring all of those elements together in a solution that is in the best interests of Liverpool Football Club and its fans.

"We are mindful that supporters have been promised a solution in the past and have been disappointed, and also that local residents would like to know what direction we are headed in. However, just like any other business, we can only proceed as and when we are clear on all elements and we will not be forced to make a decision that is not in the best long-term interests of our club and we will not make any promises to our fans that we cannot keep. We will continue to work diligently on this project and keep our fans informed of any progress."

Council leader Joe Anderson said: "We recognise that Liverpool FC need to make the right decision on the stadium options, and it is crucial that it is not only the right one for the club but also for local residents.

"We fully appreciate that the new owners have made real progress over the past nine months since they took over, and we will continue to support what they are trying to deliver. However, it is unfortunately the reality that the debate and discussions over a new stadium have gone on for many years, causing a great deal of frustration and uncertainty within the local community.

"Although we are fully supportive of the club, we can't ignore the fact that the clock is and has been ticking, and people need certainty about the development.

"We will do what we can to continue to help the club, and I can reassure people that we will be pressing for a decision as soon as is practically possible that will benefit Liverpool FC and deliver the much needed regeneration that the area so badly needs."

MEIRELES OUT OF LIVERPOOL
Disappointing but hardly unexpected news: Raul Meireles is set to leave Liverpool.

With Anfield crammed to the rafters with central midfielders, it's no surprise to read in The Sunday Mirror that Pool will permit his departure in return for £12m. It's claimed that he will be talking to both Juventus and Inter Milan.

'Portuguese star Meireles, 28, will be squeezed out following the arrival of Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson and boss Kenny Dalglish is set to keep him back as the club sets out for a pre-season tour of China today', says the paper.

LIVERPOOL City council leader Joe Anderson today insisted the local authority is not to blame for Liverpool FC’s problems redeveloping Anfield.

He warned the club it would likely take three years to clear all the hurdles required to stay in its present ground.

In an interview with the ECHO, he spelled out the facts he sees standing in Liverpool FC’s way with one of the most significant being national planning restrictions.

Cllr Anderson said that the extra height of extended stands blocking daylight to nearby homes is a key consideration.

His remarks followed a statement from Liverpool FC chief executive Ian Ayre on Sunday, saying that redevelopment of Anfield was looking increasingly unlikely, due to land/property acquisition, environmental and statutory barriers.

Cllr Anderson said: “You can’t build something right next to someone’s house that blocks day light – whether Liverpool FC like it or not. That is something that exists.

“It existed 10 years ago when they were talking about it then, and it exists today.”

He also said issuing a compulsory purchase order (CPO) is not as easy as many people believe, as there have to be clear regeneration grounds.

Cllr Anderson said: “They are not our rules, they are national legal requirements.

“We will do everything we can to assist Liverpool FC and help them.

“The original problems, before they decided to move to Stanley Park, are the same now because people have the right to light, and there are all kinds of issues like that.

“We have said that they have to make the decision. If they want to negotiate with people around the stadium and come to a deal with them that allows them to build higher to increase capacity [that is fine].

“From our point of view, when Ian Ayre talks about the statutory requirements, local people have the right to light.”

He said he understands that the situation is not of the current owners’ making but that the community in Anfield has waited a long time for the club to move forward.

He added: “They are not starting with a blank sheet of paper, they have to deal with the situation they inherited.

“There is a cost in re-developing Anfield, they may have to wait three years before they can start.

“Even if it gets planning permission, that does not mean that people can’t appeal.

“People have rights. They have to be able to object and there has to be a strong regeneration argument.

Aquilani is a classy player... much better then Adam but he is not British and if he was British he would have stayed at the club
