Maybe, still think it's more an energy or mental type thing. Seen it too many times where kids that have broken into grade full of excitement for us just look that much more switched on than everyone else only for them to regress. You could even argue we saw it with Jake tonight, saw someone say that Gus said Jake was excited to play fullback and you could see it in his game, just looked so much sharper than he has all season.
That's definitely a big part of it. The constant losing and whole team being down on form and confidence is the worst thing for young players to be around. Especially with the lack of leadership from players and coaches we have at the moment. It makes it so much harder for them to develop and not pick up bad habits from their loser senior teammates.
That's why Penrith are so good right now and can just constantly churn out so many good young players, they're just full of confidence and seem to maintain that level of energy all the way out. I guarantee if someone like Tago broke through with us he wouldn't be anywhere near the player he is right now for Penrith.
Reminds me of someone else that played for us, might've been Lane when he was breaking through. Just moved so awkwardly but was hard to handle.
That's part of what makes him effective. That awkward gangly running style and a fend. His first contact he loses metres but he often bounces off a defender.
Whoever we put on the wing......they always come in on defence leaving the gap on the outside.....Okunbor, Crichton and others.....there appears to be no discipline or trust on their inside man.....coaches should be able to fix that........but first off we need coaches that can coach.....
