He was, they just got in the road. Fuck em, we pay our taxes to use the roads as intended. These ***** can go stand on the train tracks and protest there.
Nah man. Let them go protest on the harbor bridge. We'll just push them all off it.

Now we have the Sydney trains and Nurses protesting while the Hunter struggles with 'special law'.
The Government has its hands full.
Don't frame me to fix the mess.

Allegedly she's from Lismore and lost a lot in the floods. Could be a sign of trauma
You can definitely tell because of how she was speaking that she deadset knew what she was doing. It's not like floods are something that people can stop from happening anyhow.

Don't try to bring compassion to the thread, bro. Just pick up your pitchfork and join the first world problems rage chorus.
Look I don't agree with their target of protesting, their targets need to be politicians and executives of oil companies, e.g AGL who won't sell out to Cannon Brookes

But yeh, it's quite a "balanced" response to want them run over, locked up, punched, etc.

Yeah, I'm not saying I agree with it. This sort of thing inconveniences a lot of people and alienates potential allies from the cause. It's just the unadulterated hatred that gets me. I can understand someone who got caught up in the jam being royally pissed off, but why are all these keyboard cowboys so invested? Misguided as the protest may have been, the protester held up traffic, it's not like they killed a bunch of people. And also, as you sort of hinted at, nobody knows what the protester's story is. Whether personal experience or trauma led to such a drastic protest. They all have the kid tried and convicted as a spoiled inner city schoolgirl who has been brainwashed by the liberal media. They hate based on the ideology without knowing the person. It's Greta Thunberg syndrome all over again.

They're not very good at this part.

There needs to be a realisation, on their part, that they're fighting immensely wealthy corporate groups. Groups who have the money and power to use propaganda at huge levels compared to their pity levels. As such for protests like yesterday, it's very easy for those corporate groups to paint them as misguided, annoying people and reverse whatever good will they may have.

Bro, whatever that thing was is a hypocrite. It DROVE it's car and blocked other cars, causing traffic, keeping more cars on the road longer then they had to be.

The **** failed successfully.

These people do nothing for the environment, give them 500 hours of community service cleaning up the streets, etc, then they will actually be doing something for the planet!

Not really, that was their point.

I'm assuming here but my guess would be, if this person IS from Lismore and WAS affected by the floods, then she would want people to understand her pain and join her movement. As such she saw the appropriate response of causing annoyance (by blocking the tunnel) to get people to understand why she was there and stop on reflect on her cause.

So she was successful, because people are speaking about it.

By no means am I saying I agree, I'd personally target politicians or relevant executives, but this is the way she saw it playing out in her mind.

And keeping cars on the road longer than they need to be, well that's not really hypocrisy. Because it's the long term goal they're aiming at, i.e. moving off fossil fuels, hence a prolonged few hours of emissions isn't going t make much of a difference

In addition to the above, this is also why they'll probably continue with this action in future.

That's their way of looking at it, I don't personally agree, but IMO they'll continue doing these type of things to bring attention

At the very least it's started discussion.

I agree, I'd be annoyed if I was stuck in traffic and I'd also think this is the wrong way of going about it.

But others may look at it and agree and be moved to act in their own unique way.

For this type of action to be successful, imo, you would have to repeat it in short space of times, e.g. every weekday for 4 weeks
