Running away out of defence with a 2 on 4 defenders? Push the impossible pass! Lose it on the first tackle!

Make a great last line tackle? Stay at marker! Be completely out of position! Concede a try!

5th tackle one metre out? Kick the ball too high! Let the tallest guy catch it on the full!

Whoever’s been his coaches in juniors have done him zero favours, and being put into 1sts too early has killed his confidence.

I just can’t see him succeeding at the dogs ever. Maybe somewhere like the Storm, but not here.

They need to back Jake Averillo for the remainder of the season at the back, let him make mistakes and have brain snaps. Let him have a proper crack at FB and allow him to own it.
He has shown enough tonight in skill and speed to show he could revel at the back for us with Some experience.

Flat footed forwards and defensive line speed is a massive reason we suck. And jmk lazy cnt just watching panthers walk past him

Flat fotedslow service, slow play the balls and shallow runs.

He still finds a way to fuck up.. made 3 errors off the back of some decent work. Plus he tackles as good as dufty

I thought he defended well, as did the commentators.
A couple of wrong options but he had a go and opened the way. A bit of luck and he is a hero.
Could be a great FB with the right players around him.

Averillo has shown great pace on kick returns and when linking up in attack. Just needs to make better decisions but positive signs.

Anyone hammering him is taking the piss when the alternatives were Dufty or Allan.
