I sure hope so my brother. We didn't deserve to lose today, we got let down by a couple of duds on the field and one in the box.
We did deserve to win today.

Combinations are still forming with 7 new players in the team but the signs are good for improvement.

If we can manage Tommy T like the Roosters did then the rest of the Sea eagles team isn't that scary.

It will all hinge on if we can limit Tommy T's opportunities.

I think morale is actually quite high.

The way they celebrated tries and good tackles they looked like quite a tight group. Much tighter than last year.
All the new recruits show more passion in the jersey than anyone else. We have some Fucken deadset losers in our 17. No passion and no pride. Makes me sick

Not denying that but we are headed in the right direction and lets face it we can't sink any lower.

So if the poorer players are dragged along with the others then they will all improve.

And I know it’s gonna be unpopular with what I say. But I almost feel sorry for Okunbor. Another player who has hindered development cause he’s been played out of position. Anyone that knows him from the lower grades knows he’s a second rower. But some Einstein thought it’d be great to put him on a wing. Wingers these days are specialist finishers. He lacks that and lacks any agility. It’s not his fault he’s on the wing. Where Barrett goes from here with selections will truly tell how good of a coach he is. As far as I’m concerned him and Averillo are NSW cup players next week. Bellamy and Robinson wouldn’t put up with this mediocrity. So why should we.

Yep but that can change very easy , a few loses and the morale spirals . We should have won today, we didn’t though because of some players that Barrett keeps on selecting are just not good enough.

Unfortunately because they have squads that they have handpicked for years including recruiting gun juniors because they are successful clubs so they get to choose who they want.

We on the other hand are coming off a seriously bad run and are only just starting to improve now.

Des destroyed our junior recruitment and the players we have had come through were the leftovers after the power clubs chose who they wanted.

We don't have the recruitment attraction that the Roosters and Melbourne have.

This year has been a massive step in the right direction and in 2-3 years we could quite possibly have the drawing power that they have.

Until then it just a reality that we are turning things around but we aren't all the way around the corner just yet.

Averillo needs to go it’s killing me he is still playing in the half’s
This is one of biggest farces in Bulldogs history that this bloke keeps holding a spot in the best 17! Yet we are playing in the FKing spine! Just let that sink in for a minute. At least Flanagan knows how to kick goals.

Completely agree. I just can’t fathom any reason whatsoever to have him in the side (unless he has some unruly photos of someone!). Even blind Freddy can see the joke of a player does not belong in any first or reserve grade team. Baz is completely at fault to keep picking him - yet another example of Baz not being up to it!
Okunbor might be bog average but he’s far from the reason why we’re not winning games. Fact is we are not scoring enough points. Points come off the back of good go forward which then allows the spine to create opportunities. Our 1 and 6 can’t do it all on their own. Our 9 creates SFA for other players although he occasionally creates an opportunity for himself to score just like we seen today. Don’t get me started on the 7!

As long as Baz persists with JMK at 9 & Averillo
at 7, we will struggle score points & win games. We should have been 18 ahead at half time with our possession. JMK’s service from DH is atrocious and is a poor decision maker.
Averillo is a 1 trick pony; show & go or double pump, sub NRL standard kicking game for a half that doesn’t challenge the defensive line-this also stifles the effectiveness of Burton. Hopefully Cook gets an opportunity at 9 very soon; either shift JMK to 7 or bite the bullet & give Flanno a decent go at 7. The club’s narrative that Averillo is our best option at 7 is an insult to football intelligence.
I agree with everything you’ve said except for JMK at 7. I’d sooner give Topine a go at 7 and he’s probably never played halfback before.

Must have watched a different game to me. JMK was fantastic. His best game for us by a long margin.
Surely you’re taking the piss? You need to look beyond the try he scored. His service out of dummy half just like always was terrible.

That's the thing bro, most of us aren't basing our judgment on the last two games, it's based on his career with us. Sure he might fluke a try once in a while but FMD he doesn't learn and hasn't shown any improvement.

He is a liability and just hinders our rebuilding.
We have the whole season to work it out.

I would rather schoup in for okunbor I also would like to see Flanagan at 7 to see what he is like with Burton, Averillo isn't our 7 maybe bbo ?

Well IMO it's better to try combos now (Next 5-7 games) than later down the track.

We are 1 from 2 I get what you are saying I want schoup in but I would like to be 100% sure okunbor can't play.

Why does he have to get the ball before averillo and Burton, it's like tolman all over again. By the time it gets to Burton he is surrounded by defence...just go straight from dummy half to the halves ffs
JMK is why

I actually have hope that they could manage TT but im sure the Okunbor Edge will be exploited by the better sides now they have seen the real issues with our defence.
