This can still work out beneficial for us. If someone goes down injured leading up or during the finals, at least burton will get finals experience at a young age. If that injury happens though
So we should instruct our forwards to take out Cleary ..... sorted .... then the whole NRL community can feel sorry for Nathan Cleary as well as Jake.

I'll give it a watch soon, but if we were the Panthers we wouldn't want to give the best back up half in the game up unless we were getting a suitable replacement in return (that doesn't include Napa and other players that aren't good enough even for our club). I hope our club takes this approach in the future personally (especially after being F'd because of it) because we just seem to give players away for nothing. The best thing for Panthers is for Burton to stay there, the best thing for Burton's development was to link up with us months ago.
This exactly. I hate that they are not releasing him because I am a dogs fan but I would defend want the dogs to do the same thing if it were the other way around.
At least the flog Alexander was honest, clubs should be run to get results regardless of how it impacts the players.

Confirms what has been known all along tbh. He’s under contract and Panthers have every right to keep him, but the response from Brandy gave the impression it was more personal than anything - the fact it’s the bulldogs (he hates us) and that Baz is trying to fleece their roster. He did not answer the question Kent posed to him, danced around it and said this comp isn’t fair. Ok Brandy lol

Probably good for Canterbury to take notes re how Penrith & Storm operate. It is a business and in the last decade we have been appalling when it comes to player contracts. Polar Bear, Barba, Klemmer...even Harper & Remis Smith...all let go with absolutely nothing in return...absolutely terrible. We aren't getting Burton this year however I will laugh my guts out if Penrith get an injury in R26 & Burton whiteants them out of the finals because he has the shits with a wasted year because of politics.

Tbh, I don’t have a problem at all with anything Brandy said and anything the Panthers have done regarding Burton.

It was refreshing hearing him fkn rubbish Mansour and say he was out the door lol.

I’m not letting my back up half go to another club early. 1 injury to Cleary or Luai and he will be in over May I don’t care what anyone thinks.

Cleary will also be missing during Origin.

I’d be telling Canterbury to eat a bag of dicks, Burton is under contract, his services are required at the club that is currently paying him.

Should there no longer be a need for him then sure let’s revisit.. but best believe i’d be asking for something in return.

They hold all the cards. Don’t sook about them letting Laurie go early or sending Mansour off the plank. It has nothing to do with Burton specifically.

Barrett will get payback when he signs Koroisau and Fisher-Harris.

Alexander 100% admitted they don't give a shit about their players (what's fair), it's all about money (ie: why they tapped Mansour on the shoulder - "he was on more than he should have been" Alexander said). The Panthers don't deserve loyalty after admitting that publicly. Every Panther should know as soon as they get slightly past their best they're likely to be shown the door for the next model in the production line. Hope this encourages their current players to think about themselves only and never take unders to remain there. I hope all this encourages Barrett to go even harder for their players. They have several players now on very high wages. No way they can match our bid for players like Koroisau (who only went there because of Barrett maybe in the first place) or for Fisher-Harris. They come on the market end of this year for 2023 - which coincidently will be the last year of Barrett's current contract. Barrett will be desperate to have the team he wants by that year hoping to win an extension.

That was a pretty clear cut admission of panthers priorities and player wellbeing or at least player interest doesn’t appear to be top of the list. That episode tonight may cause a little unrest in the dressing room. We at the dogs have had some administrators who have at times got it wrong, but not sure they were ever intentionally and deliberately setting out to stall a player’s career path.

I was spewing when we got absolutely nothing from the Raiders for CHN. Still don't understand it. If we have any brownie points in store with them they should be giving us Starling now especially since he's only playing reserve grade.

They only released him because they got Momirovski in return. If we released Napa and paid what they wanted then Burton would be here already.
Exactly. But let’s keep bitching. Panthers have every right for what they’re doing.

Why isn’t he in the squad instead of may then?

100% we should have got something back in return for chn. Look at chn and starling now both playing reserve grade when they would have been certain starters for us. We sure could do with both of them now

CHN would of probably been coming off the bench if it wasn't for another off-field issue. He's not good enough to start tho. Starling re-signing is very questionable for his development. There's no point being in a top/successful team if you can't be a part of it imo.
