I’d like to know IF he does get the flick who would be his replacement? No new coach is going to turn the teams form around immediately with the squad we have.

This year has been a total right off having lost Okenbor and especially CHN before the season even began. Add in injuries to Stimpson, Elliott, Hopoate and the Tolman debacle and no team could have had a worse start than us.

We don’t have the size or pace in our side to compete with the other clubs but I do admire the effort the boys are putting in each week against teams that have a virtual representative squad.

Our cap issues was NOT any of Pays fault. We only now have cash to splash around and bring in 3 or 4 decent signings while blooding more of our Canterbury Cup team into our squad. I’d give Pay a one year extension to turn things around on his current contract based on the above facts. If we can’t lure some quality players over the next 6 months and at the very least make the top 8 next year only then should he be relieved of his coaching duties. He’s been a club stalwart since the ‘80’s he deserves to be given a chance to turn things around not just for this season but into 2021.

No one is coming knowing a coach is on a 1 year deal, he is either sacked or he gets 3 years.

Then we have the knights, Eels & Storm. Essentially that is 9 straight losses. How can the board accept that especially when we are looking for a sponsor

The majority of people in the media continue to bang on about how Dean has been set up to fail. Whilst everyone on here would agree that there are things out of Dean's control there are still 2 major things within his control that will cost him his job.

1. Team Selections
2. Improvement of individual players during his tenure

In relation to team selections its pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain that he has made some terrible decisions (especially this year). Most notably :

1. Persisting with JMK at hooker ;
2. Picking DWZ at fullback the last 2 weeks. He had 3 horrible games there to start the year and should never play there again ;
3. Letting Crichton anywhere near first grade ;
4. Not dropping or at least demoting Napa. His form has been horrible

The most telling thing about his coaching though is that none of our squad are improving and some are actually regressing. Players like Jackson, Napa, DWZ and Foran are going backwards at a rate of knots. You see players improving at other clubs but our players are clueless. The board should take some responsibility as well for this because the systems in place obviously are not working

On NRL360 Paul Kent has stated that Dean Pay has been advised that he won’t be coaching the Bulldogs next season and that Andrew Hill will speak to Trent Barrett this week
