A few key points from the interview:
- the virus is in the very early stages. It's expected to get much, much worse
- it's expected to make a come back in China after quarantine measures are lifted
- predicted to be 15 times worse than the worse seasonal flu when it comes to death counts
- the virus primarily kills at risk people (old and weakened immune systems) but has started hitting many young people especially obese and smokers
- there's a lot of misinformation in the public treating it like the virus will disappear soon
- peak virus will hit in the next 3 to 6 months
- the virus is generally doubling infectious cases every 4 days (2 people get infected, 4 days later 4 people infected, 4 days later 8 people, then 16, then 32, etc)
- over 55s and people with underlying health issues should avoid crowds
- closing schools is causing problems as it forced nurses to stay home to take care of their kids
