Not retaining Cook and botching the Tedesco signing is actually a worse fuck up than losing JT.

They pair have very quickly become big game players aswell as usually being the most influential players during the regular season.

Atleast with JT we had a successful team and established halves. It appeared to be the sensible decision at the time to let him go.

What's worse now is that these two guns would have fulfilled crucial spine positions we have had glaring weaknesses in for years. Not just filling the positions but actually excelling and creating scoring chances.

No JT was a much bigger loss.

Tedesco was never comming.

Cook yep the club fucked up there. Should of put much more effort to keep him.
The has improved a hell of a lot while at Souths however.

We have them in our squad and we will make finals without a question even if I was coaching lol...... Tedesco was always coming here but last day of cooling off he backed out because of some brown paper bags! Cook was a massive fuck up but we all know Des the wanker screwed this club more then once

Yep, have been thinking the same. We easily could have had both and both are the best in their position by a mile. They had Teddy signed but allowed him to backflip to the Roosters. Cook being let go when he cost so little to retain was the biggest of Des' infinite fuck ups..

I can't watch these guys tear up so badly in Origin. Throw in Morris who looks like he wound back the clock 10 years and its painful to watch.

Well Tedesco was coming because it was widely reported that he backflipped at the 11th hour and imo opinion it is a bigger fuck up than JT given the context of how shit we have been at scoring points for years when you combine these 2. Together there is just so much threat. They provide more space for every other player on the team

Also Cook was a standout at the back end of his last season with us and is just playing his natural game which his speed and acceleration allow him to do.
Even with restricted desball tactics he was always threatening.

It was Raelene the fat fuck Castle who was in charge then yeH? A real ceo would of listened to the fans and known to pressure Hasler to keep cook

JT would have definitely got us premierships if he stayed with us. Imagine 06, 09, 12 with him in the side.

Cook and Tedesco look good in clubs with equally good players, put them in with players like Montoya, Elliott, Tolman and Holland and I don't think you see them produce the same.

People need to get over it.

Souths offered Cook 2 years and more money a season we could.
Tedesco was only using us to bump up his price.

You can't win bidding wars against Storm, Broncos, Souths or Roosters.

Tedesco never even had a signed contract with the Dogs..
You can't count a player you never had as a loss.

It's one thing to try and ignore it during the club season even though those players are their teams strike weapons, it's another to see them dominate Origin which is the highest quality footy and a game everyone watches.

Cook could have easily been retained. You act like Des and the club had no choice? Cook's first contract with Souths wasn't for much. They had Farah there too.

Maybe if we finally signed a long term hooker like Robson or Grant instead of more fringe second rowers we could get over Cook sooner.

Considering we still have to watch JMK and Lichaa is still in our squad, people are entitled to whinge and reminisce.

Exactly. It hurts saying it but they wouldn’t be where they are now if they were in blue and white playing Desball and Payball.
As a blues supporter I love watching them play

Cook's first contract with Souths wasn't for much.
Cooks first contract with Souths was $850k a year.

There was no chance in hell we could compete with it. The renewal is $850k + TPAs bringing his wage to about $1 million a season.

850k a year? He played 5 games for us, where did you get that from? His current contract is worth that. His original contract for the 2016 season, before he got extended last year, was worth barely over 350k a year for two years. They had McInnes and Paul Carter at the same time.

Bullshit, there’s n9 way it was even near that
Played handful of games showed promise
Even he said when he signed last contract it’s finally good to set his family up with a good contract
His new deal is 4.5 over 5years which is 900k
