I wouldn't be surprised if the so called "salary cap" is the cause of the poor standards.

When some teams find ways to go well over the official cap (be it legally or not) that means less dispersion of elite players throughout league, which inturn means less wisdom being passed down to lesser players among the teams with a comparatively undervalued team.

The long term effect will snowball as elite players share with elite players in certain clubs (how much water can a wet sponge soak up?)

Leaving the other clubs with dry sponges only a few elite players to sprinkle a few drops of wisdom to their less experienced players.

Hence roosters? Lol
