Smith had to improve the position in that situation.

Martin came up with a try saver on Finucane. His overall performance was solid and he nailed 2 other kicks from the sideline.

The other problem was Storm tries were straight through the middle and gave them an easy two points.

Because the referee is shit every time we get him, as well as the kick position he was right at the leg twisting tackle and did nothing.

I'm very concerned by Rhyse's last kick. He seemed to rush it a bit more than usual when he didn't need to. Better we tie up the game before worrying about extra time. Basically shows either he can't kick under pressure or he had a wager on the Storm ?
I think he looked a bit tired taking that kick, perhaps he was thinking of what he will have for dinner, or perhaps he was harping back to an argument with his Mrs. Theres clearly no excuse for missing a kick any kick RIGHT? He IS a robot Martin isnt he? Surely we dont still use a human to kick our goals? Heaven to Betsy!!!

For those wondering why he took it out further... it's apparently because when the kick hooks there's a greater angle out wide.

If you notice when Rhyse kicks there's a fair bit of left swing on it... Kinda like this

)

So by going out wider he's giving the ball a greater chance to swing back across the open face of the goal posts (rather than kicking directly/straight forwards at a lesser angle).
Player has no choice he takes where the reff tells him to.

Improve position how? Watch it again and count the Storm jerseys cutting him off

Martin kicks in the 90s % wise

Fact is he choked on that pressure kick

Otherwise he played pretty well

I'd say give yourself an uppercut but after reading this bullshit, you'd miss your own chin.
He kicked the kicking tee. So completely fucked up the most important kick of the whole game. Not even close - and you don't think that suggests he's possibly crap under pressure. Give yourself a coathanger

An error...yes a mistake...just like Adam Elliot's missed tackle on Munster from the scrum. Is Elliot crap bcoz his missed tackle cost us a try? So if he kicks that kick but misses one to win a grand final is he good under pressure or shit? Remember Thurstons missed goal in the Cowboys 2015 grand final? Is ThuRston shit bcoz he missed that pressure kick? A goalkickers performance under pressure has to be measured over a series of pressure kicks...not 1.

that doesn't make any sense, the wider he is the less open face he has to work with

Seriously? He looked like he took his time with it to me.... he’s not the first very good kicker to miss one under pressure. To challenge his integrity like that is completely classless....and absurd.
Exactly!
JT in the GF against Broncos ring a bell?
