I drove back to Sydney from Wagga the other day, about 40 the entire way home and car got that hot it threw up a low oil warning after hours of driving as the oil thinned out.

First time I've ever had that happen.

Checked it past few days and oil level is fine again.
That oil is fucked now, I will change that oil if I was you.

Well that's what I'm assuming has happened... not 100% sure though.

Drove Wagga to Sydney (including a stop) and only threw the low oil warning when on the M7 after about 430kms of driving. No ECN codes recorded so doesn't appear to be anything major that's the reason.

I've got 2 x 1L of Nulon Fully Synthetic 5w30 (https://www.nulon.com.au/products/f...thetic-5w-30-long-life-performance-engine-oil) ready to top up if it happens to give me any more grief.

Current oil in the car is Repsol Elite Evolution Long Life 5w30.. which apparently may change viscousity at over 40 degrees (https://www.repsol.com/imagenes/es_en/RP_ELITE_EVOLUTION_LONG_LIFE_5W30_EN_tcm11-560913.pdf)

I don’t understand how that can happen. Back on NYD 06 remember when it was 46 degrees? I drove an 89 Camry down the F3 back to Sydney... no drama.

Switzerland, my friends, Switzerland. Crisp Summer days, take a trip up to the alps, 10 mins by train, and upon reaching the alps... snowing begins... in the middle of Summer, however looking down at the valley where you are staying, the grass is greener than green. Looking around the alps, the snow that falls on the edge of the cliff magically melts and turns into countless stunning waterfalls. That my friends is beauty rich and rare.

Spare a thought for the people of Griffith and what's coming their way in a few days.

I prefer summer to winter, although I'm starting to slowly get convinced otherwise. At least in winter you can pile on things to stay warm.

That said I hate being cold, but also hate getting burned and humidity.
perfect weather to pick fruit

Today? Pick fruit? Son start singing Vince McMahons entrance song - that's the type of chance you have getting me pick fruit on a day like that.

Just found out our AC has a DRY mode ... which works to dehumidify.

Fucks sake ... why am I only finding this out now!!

Although that said, It's HOT heat today, not humid perse.

I don't do any real mechanical maintenance on my car... I use a local euro car specialist for all that sort of thing.

Stereo/dashcam stuff I did myself, but everything else I leave for them to look after.
