Yeh I thought about it more and think a player like Smith can carry a team, and he takes pressure off the other batsmen to be the scorer, so it helps the team, even though hes only 1 batsman. I suppose if u took Kohli out of India it would have a similar effect
Yeah, I think so. Without Smith and Warner we’re without our two best batsmen. Take Kohli and Pujara our of the Indian top order and they’d be shithouse too.

Cricket Australia is completely fucked. Selling the broadcast rights to seven and fox and not putting ODIs on free to air was a complete balls up.

Tim Paine is not good enough to captain let alone keep for aus, but CA fucked up with their ‘let’s be nice to everyone’ attitude and now they can’t sack him ffs.

For some reason we keep picking the fucking marsh’s because of their family name.

Majority of our batsmen can’t get the T20 out of their technique. No patience, poor defence.

Langer is a garbage coach, no accountability. Why the fuck is David saker our bowling coach? He was shithouse in domestic cricket and never got a look in for tests. Alan Donald was much better for our pacemen. Graeme Hick needs to be sacked, he’s our batting coach and our batsmen are garbage.

Bancroft, Warner and smith all walk back into this side immediately.

Can’t believe we’re going to lose a series at home to the fucking Indians
I like your passion

Wow they didnt enforce the follow on. Anyone guess why? Odd decision, it only increases our chances coz we could get rain and/or just block the ball for our second innings, for a draw.
The heat. Gives their bowlers a breather, especially with the next test so close.

I would've done the same.

Even at 5 for 50 odd, India are well and truly in the driver's seat

Smith is the big one we miss, with smith it doesn't matter if you are playing home or away, he averages over 50 for both. With warner it depends on where the match is, he has a very good record on our pitches but is just another average opener overseas.

I am never going to mention the pitch in any post for any test anymore, every-time i have so far the opposite happens with it lol. Lunch time day 2, i was convinced we would be chasing 500 odd and we would get maybe 400 or something and the game would end in a boring draw.
Yeh same.

Smith is definitely the player we miss the most. He’s stillthe beat test batsman in the world, but I think we miss Warner’s impact too. This is a home series and he’d have been of great use to us this summer. As far as overseas tours go, Warner averaged around 50 in our last ashes tour. Didn’t get a ton, but constantly got us off to a good start. He also made a ton against Bangladesh and has shown signs he’s adapting to skin friendly conditions. He’s much better at the top of the order than Finch. The type who can change a game in a session. Both players will make a big difference, imo.

Bailey’s actually not too bad when it comes to chasing quick runs.

I’m not mad about T20, but it was an entertaining game. What a chase.

I won't argue that one, warner leaves finch for dead.

Surely finch has to go now... what a ridiculous shot to play when you are trying to save a test match!! I have said it before and I will say it again Finch is a ODI and T20 specialist he will never be a test player

Worst case scenario- we lose and Shaun Marsh makes a score to justify his selection for the next 12 months in the eyes of the selectors. Even worse if Mitch makes a score too, but that’s so improbable it verges on impossible.

They need to try something new. Even if some guy gets plucked from obscurity.

Even Glen Maxwell wouldn't be this bad

I turned the game on briefly earlier today, within the first over of watching i saw kawaja play a reverse sweep twice. I just kinda went wtf and turned it off. What on earth has happened to some of these guys?

Cummins is embarrassing our top order, he is going to have to open the batting and the bowling moving forward

We need a few more Cummins in the side. Best bowler and batsman for Australia in this test. Can u imagine if we can get the 140 odd needed to win tomorrow, that would make Kholi cry, and id love to see that. To declare twice in 1 match and lose...oh the lols we could have.

But yeh, a bit unlikely Day 5 on this pitch.

Some of the shots from the top 6 this series is pathetic. The current system is not promoting tough batters into the test team. Greg Chappell and his pathway system has a lot to answer for as this continued performance from our batters is disgusting

And then we saw Cummins play actual, orthodox, textbook shots. And Lyon defending like a batsman trying to save a test bloody well should...
