There was supposed to be a Freddie Mercury biopic made starring Sacha Baron Cohen, which was going to take a more darker real look at his life, but the band members wanted it to be more about them and keeping that positive look of Queen.

Sounded like it wouldve been an awesome movie and have kind of been holding off watching this knowing for years that Sacha Baron Cohen movie was deep in the works.

Would have been brilliant..

He was born a Parsi in Tanzania, but he is 100% Indian descent.

A lot of Parsis live in Indian-subcontinent but they are no way from Iran, may be their distant fore fathers were. The practice the religion of Parsi or also called Zoroastrian.

Freddie Mercury's parent were both Indian born and bred.

Not sure if this is true or not, but in the movie they referenced his parents left some region (I forget where they said) because the wanted to escape Muslim rule.

From that, I assume they are not Muslim
