So what were the two big wars about.... better check history my friend
WW1: Imperialistic foreign policy, and major power colonisation.

WW2: Territory, the attempt to build a Nazi empire, and major power colonisation once again that pulled allies into the conflict.

Generally, both wars came at the end of (spelt the end of) the empire building age. In part they where fought over defining boarders, territory, and regional control but there were many contributing factors. The key difference from the English, Spanish, or Roman Empire building being globalisation and destructive ability of weapons and further reaching transportation.

Greed is too simplistic as an answer.

But again, way of topic...........

Yup way of the topic , but you started it and hence proves that Religion was never the cause of millions of deaths in two biggest wars of the world :grinning:

* Ahecee wants to list all the wars based on religion in history, but has resisted the urge of staying off topic for the sake of winning a debate, thus proving the bigger man *

Imagine Gibbs' 4th word was changed.... this place would be in meltdown.....

Massive deal then
lol, if gibbs had a similar go at haz last year, i would have feared for his safety

i don't think its a big deal personally, it was a simple sledge, hannant responded on the field and they left it there, don't see why the media is clinging on to it

Again, who cares? This is being made into a much bigger deal than it should be.

It's certainly not a nice thing to say but it's certainly not a remark that should lead to all of this attention from the press and public.

It's a shame that in this day and age everything has to come to this.

In an ideal world Hannant would take offence, his teammates would back him up and next time we play the Tigers Gibbs would be in for extra treatment. That's how it should be dealt with and that's as far as it should go.

Every religion preaches tolerance and is against violence so for benny to react in the manner he did shows he hasnt yet grasped his own ideals yet.

Then every league player who follows a religion is a hypocrite, is that right?

Every player goes out there to tackle and make it hurt. OMG wait, does that mean a high tackle is a mortal sin?

well comes down to what relegion you follow and if you follow it to the letter, and the letter is what GOD wrote . Not 100% on this but im pretty sure there is no sub clause that said follow what you want in the book and leave out what you dont like.

We are all sinners. I doubt one person on this earth has followed their religion to the letter every minute of their lives.

Even still. I have spoken to several religious leaders personally, and even they have admitted to lapses throughout their lives.

It's natural. Not one human being is perfect. But even then, religion isn't about following a bunch of words to the letter. It goes way beyond that buddy.

Anyway, this is massively off topic. Carry on guys...
