He didn't. It was a bit of a chain of evidence. The on field ref said "Have a look at this. If Lawrence could have scored then it's a professional foul", the video ref said "There's no evidence to suggest that Lawrence could have scored", then the on-field ref said "Professional foul"

The drop kick didnt have the balls to make a call in live play, so he used the bunker as insurance for what he wanted, absolute **** of a ref.

Can't stand Sutton. He genuinely hates our team. He will always make any key 50/50 call against us usually harsh where possible. It's like the baton was passed from Maxwell onto Sutton. Hate them both.

The way I saw the game was like this. Wests have had poor second halves all year and we have finished pretty good in second halves. If we kept the game close until half time we should have rolled over the top of them. Everything was going to plan but Sutton decided to let the tigers be offside all second half and gave us one single penalty. He pretty much influenced the game.

Apr 2013 - Gerard Sutton stood down from this week's NRL fixtures after two illegal incidents that injured two Canberra Raiders players went unpenalised.
Blake Ferguson copping a shoulder charge, which prompted no action from officials.
Jack Wighton illegally tackled in the air and Sutton failed to award the Raiders a penalty. Newcastle scored off the next set to win.

Apr 2015 - Black Friday Souths Bulldogs game. Sutton blows a penalty against James Graham chargedown, leading to a penalty in front at full time, leading to Souths winning 18-17.

Jun 2016 - After a complete screwup of a game during State of Origin, and a call that cost NSW the game, Laurie Daley leeds calls to have Sutton stood down from next SOO game. NRL ignore request.

Sep 2016 - Sutton stood down after what Ref Boss Tony Archers describes as "the worst refereeing performance in 40 years". His most crucial mistake was allowing a Broncos try when replays clearly showed James Roberts kicked an opponent in the back in the lead-up to the try. He also missed Corey Parker headbutting an opponent.

Apr 2017 - completely fucks over the Dogs.

In EVERY other job, you get 3 warnings. Fuck up after that time and it's off to find another job.

This bloke has been stood down 3 times already, and continues to make ridiculous mistakes officiating a game.

After Black Friday, he should never have been allowed to officiate another Bulldogs game with clear bias clouding his judgement.

We have not won a game under Gerard Sutton since March 2016, and have lost 7 out of our last 10 games with him as referee. Since Black Friday controversy, we have only won 2 from 7 (28.5%) games where Sutton has been referee.

I deal with a bloke flucken as ref it the hardest you can so get over it. Only we could complain about is consistently.
