The market is cooked, that is one thing you cannot deny.

There is very little quality available that would improve our position. There are a lot of squad players which is great for already established top teams who want depth.

There has to be cap pressure out Souffs with Wighton going there. Tino, Haas is all pie in the sky stuff.

Sele is a realistic target, we need someone like that who still has potential to get better.

Ricky Stuart and his team at Raiders are very good at picking up young forwards and developing them. Tapine was raw at Newcastle when they signed him, the guy is elite level now. Horsburgh pushing for reps and Hudson Young as well. Both of these two had a lot of flaws in their game early on and have become key players in the team. We need to get them early so we don't have to pay overs.

Call Tina and Fafita. And bring them in. Give hunt one last try. Sniff around some props at the dragons. Ask about saifiti.

When you have no go forward even plodders look good.

I hope we still go for Cogger and we should pursue Tino. We can't pin all our hopes on getting Haas. Tino would be just as effective for us and we could get him a year earlier. We should move on if possible TPJ, Sutton and RFM for whatever we can get even maybe King.

Exactly .. and then we need to do what these other clubs have done with these players, we need to pick and stick with them and continue coaching and improving them, trust them and give them game time to improve ..

What’s going on with Patolo, is he promising, does the club see him as a player of the future, if so get him in the team, give him game time, point out his flaws, coach him to be better and bring the best player out of him, if they don’t think he’s got it, move him on and find another young bloke that does have it .. we need to give these blokes more game time more coaching and be patient while they’re becoming more 1st grade seasoned players ..

A while back Horsburgh was a player they were willing to lend out, raw, made mistakes and they’ve stuck with him, they’ve continued coaching him and look at him now, plus he’ll appreciate what they’ve done for him so he’ll be loyal and pay you back when you need more from him … that’s how you build a good tough squad ..

Patolo not good enough for first grade at this stage. He will get opportunities in the future due to injury but he'll need to show a lot more than what he has.

Horse was always a good player and he was a big reason why Raider made the grand final. He had 2 big injuries after that and Ricky F'd him around a little bit too.

In the spirit of “if you can’t beat them….” I wouldn’t mind Lachlan Fitzgibbon. Not a superstar but would do well either on an edge (with Preston moving to the middle) or just a really good solid bench option. Only draw back is Alamoti and Rajab might have PTSD when they see him

After Manlys reckless spending, I’d be having a quiet word to Olokau’atu. Not sure where he fits in the team with Presto and Kiks, but I want him anyway.

Like I said mate I am too pissed to bother at the moment but there is a long long list of talent ie players like Adam Reynolds, Capewell, Nico, Spencer Lienu, Munster, Hastings, Papalii, etc that we missed or didn’t try for..
We offered Leniu a great deal but the brown paper bags kicked in at the Roosters.

Some are still living in the 1980's the days when Bullfrog could sing any player he wanted
And we were caught out breaching the cap because of it. I don't want to hear that song again.

He has been, but due to the lack of middles available, and only if he was prepared to do a one year contract on drastically reduced money...surely his luck has to improve??
If we sign no middles , I wouldn’t mind him on 300k.

30games in 4years, fuck even haslers son Foran gave us a better return.

What are you talking about? There was no cap when Bullfrog was doing the business.
Which is why when you look at those old Bulldogs teams in the 80s, and then you look at our reserve grade teams, you see some amazing NSW Cup forward packs. We were always well stocked in that department.

Tino, Hass, and Fifita are the sort of players we should be throwing the sink at if we sign the likes of Sexton.…
I don't think any of those 3 move to Sydney for less than 1.2 mil
