Skippy how old are you? This is a serious question.I'm all ears to hear your point of view,
Ok can you explain to me,
Was it when the USA got involved in the early 90s when Saddam invaded Kuwait?
Is that when you think it all started?
It started with the Balfour Declaration and support to the Rothchilds in the early 1900's.
The breaking up of Arab lands to create Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait etc by our colonial masters. Yes, Kuwait was annexed from Iraq,
But more recent, the war between Iraq and Iran in the 1980s was in retaliation to the siege of the US embassy in Tehran 1979 when 52 Americans were taken hostage for 444 days. Guess who they called on.
Saddam. They financed him. Armed him. Give him a license to do what he wanted. To avenge the siege on the embassy. Yes the CIA and US government were his friends. He fought on behalf of his Sunni allies the Saudis and Kuwait. Only to catch the Kuwaitis red handed taking more than there share of oil from a joint field.
So he did what? Here is an excerpt
What is important to understand about Saddam’s invasion of Kuwait is that right up to the invasion American leadership was giving him every sign that he was an American golden child. Four days prior to Saddam's invasion of Kuwait the American Ambassador to Iraq, April Glaspie, told Saddam that, “We have no opinion on your Arab - Arab conflicts, such as your dispute with Kuwait. Secretary (of State James) Baker has directed me to emphasize the instruction, first given to Iraq in the 1960's, that the Kuwait issue is not associated with America. "
Then he was accused of harbouring terrorists - FALSE - They came after the invasion.
WMD - NEVER FOUND.
The 2nd Gulf War was enacted because George Bush Snr could not handle that Saddam was still in power and he was out.
And this is only a fraction of what I can type up. Because you seem to think that he simply invaded Kuwait. No Skip. It started long before that. Lawrence of Arabia is not a fictional character. Nor was Omar Mukhtar. The Italians called him a terrorists. Yet he was leader of the resistance , and a freedom fighter.
Man, this has me going, because I understand ME politics better than the average Joe.
You asked. I answered.
