Mulrays breakfast show on MMM back in the 80s was radio at its best. He had a major support crew think Andrew Denton got his start on the show and a number of brilliant writers.
Graham Kennedy was the king of Aussie tv and Mulray was his peer on radio.

He was such a funny prick, many times i would be in the car going to work absolutely pissing myself at a set of lights and you would look over and see other people laughing and you knew they were listening to Doug, in the Eightys.

As Uncle Doug would say " I will copulator..."

I met him after his glory days of MMM and his comeback gigs on WSFM and 2SM - it was when he was trying to launch The Basement online. Good idea but too early and didn’t get traction. RIP Dougie.
