No thanks Ivan hasn't accomplished anything besides one grand final appearance with warriors. Either a better coach from the outside or an insider like dymmick or pay.

Dymmick or pay? Who'd be better?
At least we have seen dymock coach the fg side briefly. We won more than we lost...didnt look bad..but apparently he doesnt want the gig.

Pay & Dymock won a comp with the Dogs and Des didnt.
Exactly...The key point here is Dean Pay, in particular, knows first hand what it's like to be a bulldog and will command respect. My concern with Dymock is that he might be too soft and/or chummy with the players. We know this after the Fittler and Nathan Brown V1.0 experiments which subsequently failed miserably.

Two stories are cooking - one about the Tigers "Big 4" coming to the dogs and Des on the outer. The so called big 4 want to know who the new Tigers coach is going to be, I expect they would also want to know who the bulldogs coach is going to be?? Maybe this is all being stitched up in the background (one can hope) - would have to be a "the new bulldogs will be X and the big 1,2,3 or 4 are coming too). If this is the case then it would have to be a big coach signing (can't see them leaving JT and getting Des (both not good at attracting new players) - makes me think the new dogs coaching staff is nearly a done deal in the background - eg. maybe Phil Gould as "coaching director" with maybe Dean Pay as a rookie coach?

Dymock and Pay both do not want the head coaches role. Both have been offered it in the past and knocked it back.

Execution and organisation is the issue with the Dogs. We could have any coach at our club and the same problems would remain without a playmaker and an organiser out there.

Until we get that, even Bellamy couldn't get consistency from the Dogs.

Your spot on Mr I,we are really lacking that playmaker and it shows big time come game day.
The team is just floating around like zombies, this was very transparent against Manly

Its on every Sports show... Shit is real as.

The fact there is a contract with the biggest deal in the clubs history on the table it doesn't sound like it will be Pay. Why do I have a feeling the dogs have lined someone up, someone that is in a high role elsewhere. Could it be Walters? On NRL 360 he basically said Des should leave because it doesn't sound like anyone wants him at the dogs.
Smoke and mirrors. The biggest contract in our history refers to the extra money Hasler asked for in his renewal. Being a request for the biggest contract, our Board will be thorough and work though the potentials. Then decide its not warranted and sign Dean Pay on half of Des's old contract.

Have some dignity Des. Walk now yourself.

At the end of last year i was totally devastated and i was convinced hasler had to go, and was pretty hard on a lot of the players too!!!
But after some time too cool my head, and of course no football, i decided to give the team and coach the benefit of the doubt and try and start the year with some optimism and support the team i love.
Sadly, after the spanking we copped last week and the abysmal performance by the team im in the same mood as i was at the end of last year!!!
Personally id love to see cleary as coach and dean pay as his assistant. People say cleary has achieved nothing, but i disagree. I think he is the reason why the panthers are in such a great position right now. It definitely has nothing to do with griffin!!! Its clearys good work.
Im sorry to say it, as i was always a massive dymock fan, but new blood is needed, and to be completely honest, dymock has achieved nothing in his time coaching with us, and in a club where forwards are our focus and dymock is apparently our forwards coach, theyre all playing well below their ability. Kasiano for example hasnt done a fucking thing this year!!!
Pay would stick a fucking rocket up all their asses!!!

I hold no grudges for anyone leaving the club during all of that super league crap.
They knocked back bigger money to stay with the ARL
I want the club rid of all Manly scum
Dean Pay is a tough as guts and would bring pride back to the jersey

You don't become an assistant coach without higher aspirations in the future

Agree with your thoughts on Cleary. Anyone who can get that Warriors team to a Grand Final has done a good as job as winning it! The club is a basket case and no amount of new talent will change unless the culture does.

Disagree about Kasiano. Nothing more than a veteran of potential who, ironically, would be best suited at the Warriors.

As for Pay. Think he's worth a punt but would also be happy with Clearly.

The point being missed here is Hasler needs to be accountable for the players he has brought in and players to which he's rubber stamped on an extension.

Whilst the NRL's rule changes to the Interchange a few years back hurt us more than most, our so called SuperCoach needed to have the vision and foresight to adapt competitively to those changes. Instead, he renewed most of the existing contracts to players who were not suited to those changes and to guys in key specialist positions who were not actually specialists or were under skilled.

Our usually strong junior base has also been impacted. I can't remember a period in our history were our juniors struggled so much.

I will say this though, I don't think any coach can help our season, but I expect that if a new appointment was made, he would start pointing us in the right direction by making some tough decisions and recruiting key people in the key spine positions.

The argument that Cleary hasn't accomplished anything is such bullshit. Cleary got consistency out of a notoriously inconsistent Warriors outfit (nearly got the chocolates in '11) and built a Panthers roster that will challenge for the title this year.

It appears Cleary is Tigers bound, but if there's any chance we can snare him then the Dogs should move heaven and earth to get him.
