Action Adventure.. Indiana Jones..

EXT. GENGHIS KHAN’S TOMB. AFTERNOON. DARKENING.


The camera follows a line of white smoke shooting into the
air EXPLODING into a cascade of BRIGHT RED. A FLARE. The
SPARKLING WATERFALL of colour stands out against the ever
darkening skies.
One of the men left behind by Indy & Zhou puts down the
smoking flare gun after just firing off the last signal.
He nods affirmatively to his counterpart as he walks towards
him & joins him next to a small fire.
A large menacing RUMBLE is heard off in the distance. They
both look up anxiously.
The source of the noise reveals itself over the horizon. A
convoy of trucks charge through the snow..
Each of the vehicles marked with the red star of Communist
China..THE P.L.A..Chinese People Liberation Army.
INT. GENGHIS KHAN’S BURIAL CHAMBER.
Indy steps away from the last golden guard having disabled
its firing system.
INDY
That’s it.
ZHOU
(standing up & giving Indy the
broken piece of glass) There..maybe
you can stick it back together &
regain some of that luck.
Indy & Zhou move further into the chamber.
Before them on the floor is a solid gold circle. Embedded in
the floor around it, a ring of gems, of all shapes & colours
shine.
On the disk itself, etched into the gold, is an imposing
portrait of Genghis Khan. He is depicted wearing a Mongolian
battle head dress..a metal helmet with a large spike fixed
to its peak with a leather strip attached to its base
protecting the back & side of his neck.. His eyes watch,
waiting, protecting his tomb.
Indy notices...
a small square hole directly in the center of the rim, just
above Khan’s forehead.

INDY
This looks like the spot.
Indy places his hand into his satchel & pulls out a square
cube with a diamond on it.
INDY
(looking at the cube) Lets hope
this works.
Indy slowly moves towards the hole & kneels down before it.
Zhou watches.
Indy takes the block & gently places it into the space.
A moment passes.
Suddenly the room begins to SHAKE.
Indy steps back just before the gold circle begins to
separate in the middle.
Both Indy & Zhou stare into the hole.
INSTANTLY FIRE from inside the depression sheds light on its
treasures.
Indy & Zhou’s face GLOW from not only the fire but the
riches they have just uncovered.
INDY
(tilting his hat back from his
forehead wiping the sweat from his
brow) Fortune AND glory.
Zhou points to skeletal remains in
the hole.
ZHOU
What..no..who are they?
Indy looks down into the shallow pit.
Amongst the treasures are bones surrounding Genghis Khan’s
jewel encrusted coffin.
INDY
I guess dead men keep secrets.

EXT. GENGHIS KHAN’S TOMB. AFTERNOON. DARKENING.
The convoy of five army trucks have arrived at the entrance
of the tomb. The once desolate landscape is now a hive of
activity..
As a number of soldiers jump from trucks unfolding the
canvases covering the back of the vehicles pulling out ropes
& abseiling equipment.
The two men left behind waiting for Indy & Zhou stand
shivering in the cold. But it’s more than the weather making
their teeth chatter. Four Chinese soldiers, with RPD light
machine guns poised, surround them.
As the ropes are being thread into the tomb’s entrance a
thin, age hard to determine, steely man, dressed in a
Chinese winter military uniform, walks with measured steps,
towards the two men left behind by Indy & Zhou.
It is VAN LEUNG distinctly marked with a scar from an
unknown past etched deeply from the left corner of his mouth
crossing his cheek to a partially mauled left ear.
He is obviously a man who gets things done, when no one else
can.
LEUNG
Who went with the American?
IN UNISON THE TWO MEN
ZHOU!
LEUNG
You have served your country well.
Leung nods to two gun holding soldiers.
They grab the two men & lead them away.
LEUNG
I want all men in position. Dr
Jones can not be under estimated.
líqù (GO)
The two remaining soldiers take up a position around the
entrance to the tomb. The other soldiers now possessing
machine guns are preparing to abseil down into the tomb.
One by one the troops start their quiet descent.
Leung too prepares himself.

INT. GENGHIS KHAN’S BURIAL CHAMBER.
Indy & Zhou are searching through the treasure.
ZHOU
Indy I have to tell you..
Zhou stops in mid sentence when footsteps grab their
attention.
Indy & Zhou turn around quickly.
Zhou seems less surprised than Indy..his face etched with
guilt.
Eight soldiers run past the gold statues and surround Indy &
Zhou with their machine guns drawn.
The rest of the soldiers with weapons arrive in two lines.
The lines separates as Leung struts his way through.
LEUNG
Well well Professor Jones it is a
pleasure to finally meet the famous
grave robber.
INDY
What the?
LEUNG
Yes it is a pleasure..& i see you
have been quite busy..age certainly
hasn’t stopped your desire
for..fortune. Unfortunately this
time you won’t be enjoying the
fruits of your labour. Mr Zang you
have served your country well.
INDY
No Zhou.
ZHOU
I’m sorry Indy i was about to tell
you..my friend..i had no
choice..they they have my family.
LEUNG
You mean had..but that is no longer
your problem.
Leung raises his gun.
Zhou realizes he made a deal with the devil.

BANG.Leung shoots Zhou.
INDYs ̄ısh ̄engzˇı(BASTARD)
Indy reaches for his gun.
The soldiers raise their weapons.
LEUNG
No no Mr Jones don’t end our
relationship so early. We have
other fortune & glory to hunt for.
EXT. GENGHIS KHAN’S TOMB. AFTERNOON. DARKENING.
Indy with his hands bound is being lead by two armed
soldiers & shadowed by Leung.
The other men are removing the treasure from the tomb &
loading it into waiting trucks.
Indy looks around, then at Leung.
INDY
And you call me a grave robber?
LEUNG
We aren’t stealing. How insulting
of you. This is rightfully China’s.
You should know your history.
Genghis Khan took this from us.
As Indy is pushed towards one of the trucks by his minders
Leung continues, shaking his head.
LEUNG
You Americans are all the same.
Always painting history in the
colours that suits you best.
Just as Indy is about to be shoved into the back of a truck
he brings his foot up on the tail bar immediately halting
his progress.
INDY
(Turning to Leung) Maybe you prefer
the colour red.

EXT. TREELESS SNOW COVERED DIRT ROAD. AFTERNOON. DARK.
CONTINUOUS.
The Communist convoy of five trucks ROAR down a treeless
snow covered dirt road. Inside one of the speeding vehicles
is our hero Henry Jones Jr.
He sits handcuffed, guarded by two armed Chinese soldiers.
In the truck with them is a box, secured with rope, is some
of Khan’s treasure. Indy’s whip & satchel lie in the corner.
Suddenly in the distance, accelerating over the horizon
towards them are three vehicles.
It is..
The USMC- United States Marine Corps.
Leading the charge are two topless jeeps manned by three
American marines heavily clothed to fight the cold. In each
jeep two men have M14 machine guns strapped to their backs
while the third, a driver, expertly navigates the jeep
through the icy conditions.
A large army truck brings up the rear trailing behind the
jeeps.
Each member of the convoy display the white star of The
United State’s Army.
The two men in Indy’s truck begin to stir as orders are
barked through their walkie talkies. As one of the soldiers
moves towards the rear of the truck he turns to the other..
SOLDIER
Kãn tã (watch him)
The other soldier points his gun at Indy.
LOW ANGLE ON ROAD..
The three newly arrived vehicles charge towards us kicking
up dirt & snow as their chained wheels eat up the terrain.
Just as it looks like the jeeps & truck will burst through
the screen onto us the CAMERA quickly SWING PANS around the
American’s convoy.
Now behind the truck we hear the sound of CHAINS UNRAVELING
from inside it. Suddenly the truck’s back door opens
CLANGING on the ground.

Using the door as a ramp two SNOWMOBILES slide out of the
truck. The snowmobiles gain traction on the slippery roadway
& we follow behind them as they POWER past the truck & jeeps
in search of Dr. Jones.
As the snowmobiles make their way up beside the Chinese
vehicles Leung appears out of the leading truck with guns
blazing..
TAT! TAT! TAT! TAT..
hitting the bullet proof windscreens of the ski mobiles.
The Americans swerve to miss the gunfire.
They then begin to duck in, out & around between the Chinese
trucks searching for Indy.
The jeeps & truck too make their way up beside the
communists.
But their welcome is much more fierce as GUNFIRE BLASTS out
of all the Chinese’s vehicles!
The marines in the jeeps swing left then right to avoid the
gunfire but the truck is too cumbersome & gunfire is
PEPPERED into its front right tyre.
The wheel RIPS APART sending the truck careening off the
road & SMASHING into some large rocks & EXPLODING INTO A
BALL OF FLAMES.
The guard watching Indy is distracted for a moment by the
EXPLOSION.
Indy uses this lapse & jumps up swinging his bound hands &
knocks out the surprised guard.
Indy turns to the other guard just as the Chinese soldier is
hit with a round of return fire from the Americans.
Indy looks out of the back of the truck & is greeted with
the chaos of bullets WHIZZING back & forth between the two
speeding parties.
One of the snowmobiles sees Indy emerge out of the back of
the truck. The rider veers off away from the Chinese
signaling to one of the jeeps that he has located their man.
As the signal jeep begins to move up beside Indy’s truck,
the snowmobile that found Indy, accelerates forward
slightly, giving room for the jeep to rescue our hero.

Meanwhile the second snowmobile SURGES past the jeep,
swinging in front of it, ending up side-by-side with the
other snowmobile. They both open up fire on the first two
Chinese trucks, providing cover for the rescuing jeep.
The second jeep seeing Indy had been found, moves in behind
the three american vehicles and lends its support with a
SWEEPING SPRAY of bullets SMASHING into the last two
communist trucks.
One of the marines in the signalling jeep, now directly
beside Indy’s truck, motions for Indy to jump into the jeep.
Indy nods but returns inside the truck.
He rushes to the corner of the truck and retrieves his gear.
While Indy disappears inside the canopy, the road the two
opposing armies have been battling on starts to diverge.
Forcing the Americans onto the new, slowly declining,
parallel road as the other is now too narrow for both
dueling forces.
Indy reappears at the back of his truck & realises that the
jeep, because of the new descending road they are on, is now
too far away to jump to.
INDY
DAMN!
He goes back into the truck.
Indy looks around.
INDY
That’ll do.
He starts undoing the rope that had been securing Khan’s
treasure.
Indy emerges at the back of the truck. Holding one end of
the rope he throws it to the jeep closest to him, which is
now ten meters away from him & five meters below.
The marine catches it.
Indy hand signals for him to tie it on to the bar of the
jeep that usually holds its canopy.
The marine secures the rope.
Indy ties his end to the bar in his truck making sure his
handcuffs are above the rope.

INDY
Hope these guys are on my side!
Indy pushes off from the truck & slides down the rope using
his handcuffs to hold his weight.. avoiding the AVALANCHE OF
GUNFIRE around him.. He makes it to the jeep just in time as
one of the bullets cuts the rope and..
SNAP.
The rope breaks.
Indy falls into the seat.
INDY
(grinning) You’re never too old to
enjoy that ride!
The successful american rescue team blazes off into the
distance having got their man.
Leung looks on from the truck & stares placing his hand on
his chest playing with the red star on his lapel.


EXT. MILITARY AIRPORT. MID MORNING. SUNNY.

Well guys that's about the first 20 minutes or so to the opening of my movie.. Like Raiders, Doom and Last Crusade I start at the end of a previous Indy adventure.. From this we lead into the main adventure.. Just to let you know I wrote this on an old Nokia phone..in notes..with a knitting needle..as I can't use my hands..than emailed it to a computer..where I formatted it using a free script program from the Internet.. Took me a while but damn it was fun!
