I loved watching Gary Connolly. Very talented Englishman played for Dogs in 1993.

How can you go past Nigel Vagana as No1 - so dynamic and entertaining. Rate him as one of the best centres ever .Would kill it still today .
Knew how to hit a hole, could step ,had speed, Oozed X factor, He loved scoring tries .
Cant split -
Willie Talau - was so powerful and explosive, and came from nowhere- A Folkes masterclass
Twinkle toes Tonga - flourished at the dogs with a great team around him .It was like he flicked a switch when he came to the dogs .
Matty Ryan - was so underrated and consistent ,great player .
Josh Morris- Strong, fast ,modern day centre ,Was such a great player.

Special mention to McCracken and connelly ,what a centre pairing

Since 1990ish :

Best premiership year - Willie Tonga
Best import - Gary Connolly (just pips Timu)
Most underrated - Matt Ryan
Most longevity - J Moz
My favourite - Willie Talau

Overall best - Vagana. Best 3 years that a centre from the dogs has strung together since I have been watching them

Big choices

My top 7.centres in this period

1. Vagana
2. J Moz
3. Talau
4. Timu
5. Matthew Ryan
6. Shane Martenee
7. Gary Connelly

McCracken was rubbish. Sure he played some good games but 1994 semi and gf he was putrid.
Glad he pissed off in 95

Connelly wasn't here long but 93 was great to watch.

Timu should only be judged on 1995.

96 was a very tough year and it was not his best.

Martenee under rated. Did a good job.

Willy Talau goes Kapow..best hole runner in
98 to 02..

Vagana and Jmoz were best 2...

Sorry Willie Tonga had a great 2004 , rest he was in injury ward before he pissed off. Sorry I didn't rate him only 04.

Vagana and Tonga are the best I’ve seen. Special mention to JMoz.
Talau and Timu had a great season or two as well but not as consistent as the above

3.Tonga and McCracken ( Had some absolute cracker moments )

4.Vagana and Talau ( Good try scorers )

I chose centres who were at the Dogs for at least 5 years or more.
I reckon Josh Morris all respect being a long term centre who consistently produced the goods.
Darren Smith for similar reasons but especially his footy brains like his brother Jason.
Willie Tallau same again. I think Vagana had better moments but Talau was Vagana like for 6 years at the Dogs.
Got to include MaCracken for his sheer power game in breaking the line and his head on defence.

Special mention Hopoate, Tonga and Timu. I also remember Ryan being a tough centre. We seem to have had a lot of tough rather than fast centres in the style of Farrah and Chris Mortimer.

Connolly was great, him and Jonathon Davies were great pommie imports shame they both only stayed for 1 year.
