It's hopeless to select a nrl team based on what we saw during the 9s comp
Only the training staff know where all the players are at

That being said I agree with Marley

If we are going to use what we saw from the 9s then Phillips has really thrown his hat in the ring for a chance

I also know we will never win a Comp with the current format of our halves

Rather than pick a side for round 1 I will say what I think we need to do in the trials to try and discover our best side.

Since the reduction in interchange was announced I have thought a player on the bench covering as many of the spine positions as possible is an absolute must. A second hooker is surplus to requirements for me unless he can play somewhere else as well.

Therefore I would give Frawley a crack at both dummy half and fullback to see if he can handle those positions. He has the kicking game we lack in the halves.

I want to see who is the best goalkicker out of Holland, Mbye and Stanley.

I want to see Hopoate playing wing, centre and fullback to find what his best position is.

I want to see how Phillips goes under a high ball and whether he can read in defence. Pace wise he is exactly what we need.

I suspect Tolman's defence is going to be useful in the latter stages of the game when it is moving quickly and big boppers like Kasiano and maybe Klemmer might be struggling. Therefore Graham and Klemmer should be starters.

Having said all that Des is probably on a completely different track to what we are on this forum. Players who impressed in the 9's like Phillips, Frawley, Fualalo probably won't get a look in.

He looks handy, runs hard and tackles hard and can play tight or on an edge.. he could be an option off the bench. But atm, i can't see him getting a run. There is no spot available and as much as some people want Williams dropped, it wont happen..and as much as i want Kasiano dropped, that also won't happen. I also hope we drop atleast 1 prop for this season and run with an extra small forward.

18 minutes is not = to 80 minutes.
9 players is not = to 13 players.

Impossible to predict to be honest.
