100% you'd have 2 hooker options as insurance. Panthers always carrying Luke, Schneider, Toelau, Cogger etc players that could slot into 9 if needed

I disagree, I believe Mahoney would add more value playing 60-65min. With our current roster having Mann at 14 covering Reed for 10-15 per game. Would take Reeds game to a new level and also potentially see him have less brain explosions late in games. Play Curran at 13

Also for a hooker that isn’t far off origin he isn’t on massive money.
 
If anyone needed a reminder why Mahoney will receive an good offer to extend his contract, they only needed to watch the man he replaced in last night's game. JMK.
I was having flashbacks watching him bumble around.
Gus has an excel spread sheet which shows all the key players he needs to re-sign, when he needs to start negotiating, and how much salary cap he will need.
He is not sitting around without a detailed plan to keep all these top players. Mahoney is at the top of the spreadsheet. With Kikau, Burton and Crichton up there as well.
With Hayward, I think he has a key role to play as a ball playing 13, which is where Ciro is taking the dogs gameplan. Oloapu's injury threw a spanner in the works, but that is the plan, to have a few players who can play a specific style wearing the 13. Hayward may end up at 9, but I suspect 13 is the priority.
I'm also pretty confident after watching last night's game that Leo Thompson hasn't been signed as a 13.

Defo not wrong about Bailey... Known the kid for years and watched the game countless times with his old man.

He has work ethic, he has heart and yes the kid is tough but does he have the "toughness" to help you dominate the middle?

When i mean tough, i mean Kenny, Robson, Cheese tough. He is Harry Grant Tough...

Insurance is always a good thing, also a great chance to add variety to ur team. Thing is Panthers could afford it with a great forward pack... we are still building on that.

Can we afford to carry x2 rakes?

Plus i like the Idea of playing Mann at 9. Gives you the option of playing another versatile forward.
